Idk exactly how to word this prompt but... We've all been talking a lot about how the show parallels Fisk and Matt in very explicit ways.
I've been thinking a lot about how the support teams of those characters are also paralleled in some ways and just.... there are a lot of things that interest me about this exploration.

(I haven't been able to decide if karen is best paralleled with Vanessa and Foggy with Wesley or vis versa, u can make arguments for both) (I will say I've imagined both Karen and Foggy doing the "I don't like the way they speak to you." line and i'm just like ooooh yessssss)

Fanfic exploring those parallels or Fanfic where the dynamics get shifted in sort of a role reversal way (Like Foggy or Karen acting in a Wesley type position for Matt or something idk)
I don't even know what I want really all i know is that I want it BADLY.

One thing that actually jumped out at me in s01e11 was how Matt and Fisk's storylines mirror each other so closely as they both deal with the ways their ideals and chosen path isolate them and drive away the people they love. The beautiful thing for me though was that in that scenario, Foggy was pretty explicitly paralleling Vanessa. Fisk is terrified of Vanessa dying because of the poisoning that he believed was targeting him (and I suppose in a sense it was). Matt is devastated at the prospect of losing Foggy after Foggy finds out the truth about his double life. For both characters, it's the possibility of losing them that forces Matt and Fisk to really think about the cost of the choices they're making. It ups the stakes for them. It's such a clear and obvious parallel that I have trouble believing it was accidental, which ngl delights me.

Not to hijack your prompt but in that episode I was actually struck by how Wesley was most closely paralleled by Claire? They both function as a support person (which is not to say that they don't have their own agendas but.) They are the people Matt and Fisk open up to, reveal their vulnerabilities to and ask for help. They encourage Matt and Fisk not to shut out human connection. There's even a significant moment for each where Matt and Fisk thank them for everything they do.

I just thought it was pretty interesting that Claire is Matt's canon love interest, but in this one case she was obviously set up as a foil to Fisk's 2IC and friend, while Vanessa is Fisk's love interest, who plays the same role as Matt's best friend and business partner. Not that I think it's meaningful, beyond the show recognizing that different people fulfill different needs in a person's life in different ways, but it's still neat.

ANYWAY all of that said I definitely get where you're coming from with the Karen parallels too. This was just something I noticed and I needed to babble. For like 500 words lmao.

I think also if we extend the episode parallel its really interesting to see how.. Vanessa and Foggy react in different ways and provoke change in the main character in different ways. Vanessa gets closer while Foggy backs away. And I think that while a lot of this just has to do with the different character personalities and relationships, fundamentally it's about the way in which Fisk and Matt communicated differently? (Fisk is really clear and articulate, and everyone and their mum has talked about how Matt's confessions where unclear and misleading in some ways)
(which isn't like... blaming matt at all but i just think it's interesting to see that they both communicate so differently and how that folds into the way their relationships form and they way they take on their roles in Hell's Kitchen)

OH MAN I didn't even think about Claire / Wesley parallels that's amazing! And pretty true I mean, it just makes me think about any scene where Fisk is beating people up and wesley just stands in the background vs. that scene where matt is interrogating that guy and claire is standing silent in the background.

(100% I encourage all babbling of any nature this brought up so many great things i hadn't even thought of!!!)

Oh my gosh, the parallels about Claire and Wesley just standing back while Matt and Fisk beat people up hadn't occurred to me but I love that too. I think it's maybe relevant that Claire is the first person Daredevil lets in? Like, when I think about these parallels I'm like "oh yes Claire has known him the longest just like Wesley seems to for Fisk" and then I'm like, wait, no, Claire has hardly known Matt any time at all?? But she has known Daredevil longer than anyone; she's associated with Matt's "professional" side more than his personal one, just like Wesley, but of course in both cases the connection between them is personal.

Also yes, I absolutely agree re: the differences in how Foggy and Vanessa react. I think it absolutely is about how Fisk and Matt communicate, Matt is so reserved and Foggy had every reason to think Matt would have told him about something like this, but he didn't, and that has to hurt. That said, when I think about it, Vanessa actually does react a similar way to Foggy when she finds out about Fisk's dangerous side. It doesn't happen at the same time chronologically so the parallel is less obvious, but she draws back from Fisk and initially rejects him ("I'm not sure how I feel"). She hasn't known Fisk that long so she's less betrayed and her reaction is less intense, but it's still there.

I find it so weird that the show sets up Claire as like.... the cornerstone of Matt's daredevil experience. And almost like... the THING that sets him up on the road to being what he is at the end of the season (god Matt's approach to crime fighting changed so much) and yet she was only in like 5 episodes or something. And yet she makes such a strong presence with her force of nature I feel like she was actually there for a lot more of it. or like... knew matt longer than she actually did like u said. Contrast with Wesley who.. while being there /all/ the time was so background for a lot of it it didn't feel like he was there.
Once claire got involved and other people knew about his ting daredeviling stopped being 'this thing i do sometimes' and started being like.. a real actual thing. LIke i don't think matt ever didn't' take it seriously but it takes on an extra level of reality once you have someone elses perspective added.

It's been so long since I watched the show that some things have slipped my mind and yes you're right Vanessa did reject him at first. I think part of the... lack of intensity comparing Foggy and Vanessa's reactions is their different values? Vanessa seems to be a person who understands the value of compartmentalising and... being different things in different situations? So she can understand Fisk's perspective a little more than Foggy's... all in or nothing style of being.
(part of me thinks that Foggy also got Mad at Matt for lying about the senses because it... if he doesn't know what matt's capabilities are then he can't accommodate for matt accurately. Which would be important for a caretaker personality like Foggy.) (besides i mean... feeling like a doofus for offering all this help which apparently wasn't needed)

I do hope the show is going to continue exploring Personal vs Professional and how people separate or make those areas of their lives mingle. The conflict of interests involved in being both a vigilante and a lawyer where definitely looked at but I want to see how the show continues to look at who you are vs. what you do and how it all melds together.

YES. I love the way that Matt/Fisk are set up as foils/mirrors of each other, although I hadn't thought about Vanessa/Foggy or even Claire/Wesley. I also love this meta.
