We know that Foggy's parents owned a hardware store. And that his mother always wanted him to be a butcher. But what if those things happened prior to them both passing away when Foggy was a teenager and Foggy was then raised by a close relative - an Aunt or an older sibling who he loves.

Maybe there were in a car accident or died (similar to Dave Eggar's a Heartbreaking Work of Staggering Genius) of cancer very close together. Maybe Foggy then took on the responsibility of looking out for any younger siblings.

And so when he meets Matt, the two of them are able to bond over both being orphans in addition to other things.

Only two more days left to go! Anybody has spare time on their hands (who doesn't, this time of year, amirite?) and wants to write a fic about Karen, Matt and Foggy (and maybe Claire? Throw Santiago in too, if you want to), trying to celebrate an absolutely chaotic last-minute-thrown-together Christmas at Matt's place, with burnt cookies, a toppling Christmas tree ("I think it's straight now." - "you're BLIND, Matt"), people falling over each other trying to decorate Matt's weird bachelor pad, Karen catching a glimpse of the suit and Foggy trying to play it off as a fetish Santa outfit, Matt being a spectacular cook for their christmas dinner (who is eerily accurate with a wooden spoon when it comes to dissuading hungry layabouts from stealing bits while he's cooking), desperate Christmas tree ornaments, bizarre hastily-bought presents from money they barely have, and, maybe, just a fire emergency at the end with Matt heroically saving them all and Karen getting an identity reveal as a Christmas present. Please?

Matt heads back Scene Contempo Gallery just as it's closing, to "talk" to Vanessa, because he noticed that she was attracted to him and he think maybe he can use that to his advantage (to learn more about what kind of man Fisk is, etc etc Whatever, Matt).

He thinks he's being clever, but Vanessa is onto him and has her own agenda. She wants to know more about the pretty young thing (and terrible liar) who showed too much interest in her boyfriend. And if she gets lots of orgasms in the process? Even better.

So basically, Foggy's partners only with Matt for his name, Matt brings nothing else to the firm.

Vanessa and Fisk manage to convince/threaten Matt to go out on a date with them, and of course they’re rich af so they only know fancy restaurants.

So they arrange to meet at this place that Matt’s never been to before - it’s got a dress code, ffs - and he does his thing where he asks the waiter to read the menu to him and the prices, and it’s just like…

He doesn’t know what half of these things even are, but it’s all just ridiculously expensive dish after ridiculously expensive dish, and he’s so fucking embarrassed because oh God, he’s going to have to order a water and a side salad, isn’t he? He can’t afford to spend what amounts to a week’s worth of groceries on an appetizer!

So he tries to keep a poker face, but his face feels so hot, it’s probably so obvious how mortified he is, and even the waiter is probably judging him right now, ahhhh

And Matt’s like: *clears throat* “Um *mumble mumble* I’m ah… I’m thinking…. *mumble* I’ll have water.”

And the waiter lists off like, 5 flavours of sparkling water.

And Matt’s like: “Just… regular…. water.”

But the “regular water” is still expensive af, because it’s one of those ~Designer Waters~ that cost $20 a bottle, aahhhhh

And Vanessa and Fisk are like, dying, this is so hilarious to watch him so off balance. But then Vanessa takes pity on him and swoops to the rescue like: “Oh, it’s our treat, dear. Try the foie gras…”

prompt: Maybe because when he was younger, his "best friend" played sports and he had to stay home and study. So his best friend had better friends they could spend more time with. After he's blinded everyone treats him differently, and he has to work twice as hard to be good at school.

When he's at the orphanage he's bullied, and he's working through his senses, and Stick starts stealing him away. Maybe after Stick leaves he's too afraid to make friends, or at least good ones.

Cue Foggy, who decides Matt is his best friend after like four days of knowing the guy, and Matt is eternally confused/eternally happy.

Matt is full of guilt and he's convinced that everything bad in the world is somehow his fault. Before he became a vigilante, he had to deal with that guilt and self-hatred when it became too much, right? So. Matt used to go out and pick up guys, the violent type that would always end up hurting him. Then he proceeded to let them have rough and violent (and bloody?) sex with him.

He stopped doing that when he became Daredevil. But now he's benched because of a really serious injury and the guilt is too much.

Somehow, Foggy gets trapped and there’s very little hope of rescue. He has the means to leave one last recorded message, maybe on one of Matt’s tape recorders that he happened to have in his bag.

Luckily, Foggy gets saved (yay Daredevil and/or Avengers?) and Foggy thinks the recorder got lost in the chaos. A couple days later, though, the SHIELD cleanup crew drops by the office to return it to Matt. He turns it on and listens to the message Foggy left him when he thought he was going to die.

Would love something shippy, but not necessarily explicitly so. Maybe Foggy didn’t want to put the burden of a confession on Matt, or maybe he thought Matt already knew. But there’s more than enough to read between the lines. And Matt is wrecked
