Matt & Foggy bonding, non-con survivors
(Anonymous) 2015-05-11 02:54 pm (UTC)(link)So I read an academic paper on male victims of rape (as one does, when one's in fandom) and it pointed out that the numbers are relatively small (compared to women) because the definition of rape in the US legal system doesn't account for women being the aggressor and making men penetrate them; and apparently this isn't that rare, especially in college campuses, where girls have access to intoxicated/asleep guys and just take advantage of morning wood or whatever.
Sometimes all it takes is the peer pressure of a girl wanting sex and the guy not saying no because it would be 'unmanly' ('cause guys are always up for it, right?). Men who have these experiences are deeply unsettled but have difficulty even parsing that they didn't consent, because they got hard and maybe even came.
So I want either the two of them bonding over similar experiences in college, or one of them with a client at the firm, and getting some validation. Please no over-the-top trauma, I'm looking for uncomfortable, uneasy, wary, not broken.
