Oh darling Matt, didn't I tell you you're fucked? (And he doesn't even know WHY in this instance let me cackle like a mad cackling thing.)

(I can understand your concern re: the soulmark identity thing. Unfortunately I am as stumped as you about this besides magical hoodoo handwaving. Hm. I will think on this.)

(I imagine Fisk and Wesley both going down the same line of thinking as John and Max here, but if I may posit a hypothetical? Medical records. I do not doubt Fisk has the resources to be able to get his hands on Matt's medical records which will likely clearly show that Matt's eyes are fucking wrecked from that chemical spill (which I can't help but think had to have been all over the news at that time, wee!Matt saving a man's life and being blinded for his troubles DON'T TELL ME THE PRESS WOULDN'T FUCKING MILK THE HEROIC BLIND KID BEING RAISED BY HIS SINGLE FATHER STORY FOR ALL IT WAS WORTH *ahem*). And it is rather common knowledge that if a person loses one sense, the others heighten to compensate, and considering this is now a world of gods and monsters and magic...?

I apologize if I am stepping on your toes re: where you are taking your story, btw. I'm just speculating and trying to think about where this MAY go and sometimes making leaps of weird logic. I WILL HAPPILY READ WHATEVER YOU PLAN TO DO I AM JUST VERY EXCITED and sometimes that gets the better of me, so again my most profuse apologies.)
