Re: Matt/Claire/Karen/Foggy: sex pollen, teamwork (blah blah)
(Anonymous) 2015-05-15 04:07 am (UTC)(link)(I mean, my trouble was that today I kept thinking about how they'd sober up: Matt would want to sneak off, of course, as things started to filter back in. Claire would put the brakes on THAT idea - wtf, Matthew, do you know how hard people crash on ecstasy, nevermind whatever alien drug you just exposed us all to? stay in this puppy pile get comfy i don't even care-
and foggy would want nothing more than a giant cuddle pile of all his favorite people, of course, and karen would want a) a giant cuddle pile, but also to b) know what the fuck happened here, people need to know about this new drug, alert the papers -
and the next morning some agent of shield showed up in a cheap suit to inquire about Suspicious (Readings), just in time to give everyone a chance to ward off The Dreaded Crash by playing Secret Agent Men.
(Matt, in particular, takes a perverse glee in playing the part of Blind Confused Civilian suddenly exposed to SHIELD, I think.)
(on a more general note: uh. heck yeah, OP! I am old enough that this particular interpretation of "sex pollen" was heavily influenced by my actual experiences; it is super-neat that that particular flavor came through, y'know?)
Re: Matt/Claire/Karen/Foggy: sex pollen, teamwork (blah blah)
(Anonymous) 2015-05-15 07:40 pm (UTC)(link)(oh my god Matt so would, with the added bonus of "don't worry about me, I can handle this" but then a tangle of limbs reach out like OH NO YOU DON'T and hold him right where he is)
Now I'm laughing forever at the mental image of Simmons (because she's the expert in bio stuff) showing up at Claire's doorstep all earnest and concerned while Claire's like "no, nope, it's fine, I'm a medical professional,* nothing wrong here" with, say, hickeys all down her neck.
So okay while I super do enjoy the dreamy jump-cutting, I think what I'm missing is the pollen transfer moment/point (from Claire &/or Matt to Foggy &/or Karen, in whatever manner or combo you like), the moment where things tip over for Foggy & Karen (because it seems there's a ramp-up period for the effects of the pollen?), and maybe the moment where Claire first has an intimate interaction (of whatever kind) with Foggy &/or Karen. Threshold moments, I think I'll call them? Moments where things change, if that makes sense. And they could all be one scene or 'beat,' honestly. But those are the bits that might make this cohere a bit more?
Though, you know, that's. Just my own opinion, obvs. I'm only throwing it out there, really, since you seemed interested in more constructive feedback (?), and I'm basically happy to encourage more of this however I can. Feel free to ignore me all you like.
*still laughing at that line, incidentally.
Re: Matt/Claire/Karen/Foggy: sex pollen, teamwork (blah blah)
(Anonymous) 2015-05-15 07:49 pm (UTC)(link)plus, MORE lines I'm loving to itty bitty pieces, now that I'm rerereading:
"Sometimes she didn't want the kind of savage body that Matt needed in his hard world."
and
"she was the most Siamese-cat-shaped person Claire had ever seen" (which is extra funny because Claire is not a cat person and yet)

(Anonymous) 2015-05-16 05:46 am (UTC)(link)barthread, omg.Re: Matt/Claire/Karen/Foggy: sex pollen, teamwork (blah blah)
(Anonymous) 2015-05-16 03:55 am (UTC)(link)and i mean. thank you for playing with me with this idea! I mean. I absolutely agree with you, and I think you're right - transitional bits are needed, buuuuuut. well. like. what are words, words are hard. this is what happened: scene: right after Matt & Claire have yanked Foggy & Karen into the Pollination Station*, but before the happy sex times started:
______
"Are you." Foggy squinted at Matt; serious and worried, and Claire felt, abruptly, not so good; it reminded her too much of the last time she'd seen him, furious and heartbroken when Matt lay bleeding all over his apartment. That wasn't good, that wasn't right - he shouldn't be suspicious or sad, none of them should be - "It's hard to explain," she said, catching him by the wrist and dropping her towel, because it was warm and the air felt good on her skin, and Matt trusted Foggy so absolutely, Claire knew it would be okay. "It's easier to show you, honestly."
"I had a dream like this once," Karen said. Her voice was still pitched high, tipsy, more than a little giggly, but she followed Foggy inside and closed the door. She and Foggy and Matt were all on the right side of it: good. Better. Claire could smell her perfume, something very light and fragrant; she liked it. She liked them.
"Matt, what is going on," Foggy said, and his eyes only dipped to Claire's breasts once. "This is actually a sex emergency,, isn't it, I am unprepared, I can't handle - he waved vaguely in Claire's general direction, which she had to agree with, she looked spectacular naked - "all that, that - this is not my life, this is your life, I hate your life."
"I don't," Matt chirped. "It is really good right now. Karen, come over here, though, this is important."
"I didn't ask you over here to sit around and complain," Claire reminded Foggy, and smiled to take the sting out of the words, because: well. Foggy looked like he had when Matt had been hurt, and that was all wrong, nobody was hurt, it was fine, it was - it wasn't fair that he should look upset.
"Matt, I'm really having trouble talking to you with your - I mean, where are your pants - I mean, that looks - uncomfortable? wait. What's that smell?" Karen asked, from further into the living room.
"You can smell it!" Matt said, sounding utterly delighted. "Nobody ever smells anything!"
Claire took the distraction as an opportunity, and pressed her luck - and herself - up again Foggy, kissed him hard, trying to get his attention. He froze, probably in surprise, and - she felt a little bad, but this was important, it was important to convince him that they were safe, and warm, and this time no one was dying, no one was bleeding. (It was also important to get the measure of him, to reassure herself that yes, he was taller than her, and warm and soft, and - and yes, interested, good, she couldn't help rubbing up against him a little, just - just noticing.) "Don't worry so much," she said, looking him straight in the eye, after she pulled away. "Stay and help."
"Oh my god," he said. "You are both so high."
"Don't - Foggy, don't leave," Matt said, and for the first time that night he sounded - distressed.
____________________
...my general feeling is that Foggy, in particular, would have a VERY LOW TOLERANCE for weird superheroing shit, and play the ethical "I will not fuck my best dude friend while he's high on sex pollen!...but he's really hot. and for once this superheroing nonsense hasn't resulted in anybody bleeding out. OH NO FEELINGS, BONER FEELINGS." now i gotta poke it back to the "everybody is high and happy and really, really into touching each others junk" place?
*actually not ashamed of this at all.
(YES. matt is like "nah, i don't want to - to cuddle after our sex pollen thing, THAT WOULD MAKE IT WEIRD, i'll just go sleep it off on the floor"
"yeah THAT'S what would make it weird," karen said, half-asleep already.
"go get him," claire said, poking foggy, and he yelped in mock distress.
"why me? Matt, cut it out, don't make me drag you back here, that's gonna be embarrassing for everybody -"
"shhhhhh," karen said. some of her hair was in claire's mouth. that was okay. it smelled weirdly like apples.
matt hovered by the edge of the bed, hesitating; he looked sleepy and oddly nervous, until in an astonishingly lucky moment of timing, karen grabbed for an arm and foggy tripped him back into bed.
"VICTORY," foggy shouted into a pillow.
"seratonin," claire said, sternly, "the beneficial -" she yawned "-effects of human touch."
"...your sheets are scratchy," matt said, but since he'd already wrapped himself mostly around claire she figured he could take it; just to be safe, she pushed him into the middle, where it would be harder to mount another escape attempt.)

Re: Matt/Claire/Karen/Foggy: sex pollen, teamwork (add. pieces)
(Anonymous) 2015-05-16 05:02 am (UTC)(link)"I know, right?" Karen said dreamily, lifting her head from where she'd been sucking Matt's cock; it stood up stiff and shiny. Matt squirmed. She grinned and drew her fingers up along the length: he shuddered. "You have the prettiest nipples, Claire, I'm jealous," she said, honestly, meeting Claire's eyes, and that was enough to send a little thrill down her spine.
"Oh no, why are you high too," Foggy said. "I cannot be the only responsible adult here, this is not -"
"Stop talking," Karen said, cheerful and bossy, "and come help me?"
"That'd be - okay," Matt said, choked.

(Anonymous) 2015-05-16 05:28 am (UTC)(link)I'm loving the fanon developing - at least from what I've seen on this meme - that Karen is assertive about sex, if not outright dommey. <3

And also: "OH NO FEELINGS, BONER FEELINGS" I almost feel bad for Foggy but. Wait. Do I? no, I don't think so.
And the last line, oh my god.
