"Tired," Matt said. Sighed into the phone, and it was ridiculous how quickly it happened: suddenly Matt was that dumbass, ridiculously pretty kid Foggy'd been stuck rooming with, and all the assholes and petty criminals in Hell's Kitchen couldn't change that.
"I wish I knew why your heartbeat changes for no reason," Matt said, sounding thoughtful, almost - slurred?
"I worry about you," Foggy said, which was honest, but not quite the answer to the question that Matt was asking.
Matt sighed; Foggy could hear it down the line. Cell phones didn't have lines, did they? So that was just Matt's sigh, shivering through frequency, that Foggy had caught; well, he'd keep it. It felt precious enough.

"Nothing. Just checking in," says Foggy, "Where are you?"
"Just the office. Karen's here, too."
"Oh. Tell her i said hi," There's a pause, and right when he's about to ask Foggy if he's still there, he says "So. What are you wearing?"
Matt laughs. "Seriously?"
"You're right. Doesn't really matter. I'd tear it off of you either way." Foggy's voice is low, steady, and any note of playfulness is gone. Matt's throat goes dry.
He lets out a chuckle but it falls flat. "Stop it."
"I'd push you up against the wall. Pin your wrists over your head," he goes on, as though Matt hadn't spoken.
He hears Foggy's slightly ragged breaths, and, more importantly, he can also hear Karen breathing and typing on her laptop right across the room.
"Kiss and bite down your neck, I'd mark you with my teeth so everyone would know who you belong to." He can feel his face heat up at that, getting increasingly nervous that Karen might catch on to what's going on, and starting to feel warmth pooling low in his belly. Foggy bursts out laughing on the other end and Matt can't decide whether he wants to die from the embarrassment or kill Foggy for embarrassing him.
Karen is not convinced, and he's so overstimulated he can't pick up whether she knows or not.
"Uh, Karen, I-- Could you get me some coffee? from the kitchen?"
"Um, okay." She says, and as soon as she's out of the room he turns his attention back to Foggy on the phone, who's just regaining his composture from his laughing fit.
"I hate you." He says, collecting his things as fast as he can "But you win. I'm coming over. And you better follow through, or i swear i'm making you pay, Nelson."
"Love you, too. Now shut up and hurry."
By the time Karen comes back with the coffee, Matt is long gone.
