Matt is out of action, Karen and Foggy step up

So for anyone watching the show, Matt gets beat up. Like a lot. And for a man that's all lonewolf-ish, he has friends who would do anything for him.

So what if they had to?

Basically, Matt is hurt badly and as a result, out of action. Are bad guys after him? How do Foggy and Karen hide him? They're well aware that they have no training, no specific skills to help them (and for some reason, can't go to the police). What do they do?

Those two scrappy little charmers? they'd be fine.

(I mean, Foggy and Karen are the people who knew Ben Urich and Marci and Ms. Cardenas - they're good at connecting with the larger community, right? so - use that! connect! "yes it is us, those two well-meaning white kids you've seen before: omg please help us hide our drunk friend who started a fight with the wrong neighborhood assholes" - I feel like this would be the broadest cover, y'know?

...unless you meant to set up a Very Dire Situation where Matt needed immediate medical attention, in which case, ignore all that, obviously.)

Yeah, I feel like the neighborhood would definitely help out Karen and Foggy, who probably are getting a reputation as being very helpful.

I'm not totally convinced Karen doesn't have some survival skills up her sleeve, though. She might have been bluffing when she taunted Wesley about being the first person she'd shot... but there are enough other clues through the series that I do think she has some kind of darker past than Matt and Foggy would expect.

...is it canon that she's a military brat?

I mean, it might be canon and slipping my brain, but I keep thinking: yeah, marine's kid, every time I see her onscreen.
