    3. Warnings are nice, but not mandatory. Get DW Blocker if there's anything you really don't want to see.

  • Fills
    1. Put [FILL] or something similar in the subject line when posting a fill.

    2. Announce your fill on either the Completed Fills Post or the WIP Post.

    3. Long fills can either be posted over multiple comments, or posted on AO3 and linked back here.

    4. Multiple fills are always okay.

    5. Fills can be anything! Fic, art, vids are all welcome.

    6. If it wasn't written specifically for the prompt, it doesn't count as a fill. You are welcome to provide a link to already existing fic that does fit the prompt, in case the prompter hasn't seen it, but it doesn't count as a fill.

Post-Cancer Foggy is Broke, Disbarred and Supposedly Dead

So what the heck is Foggy going to do now that he's healthy?

Looking for a short fill showing how difficult it is for him to get his life back.

He has to call his sister, family members and friends and say "So I'm not dead...". He has to basically legally arrange a bunch of stuff to even be able to rent an apartment or legally use his IDs. And he can't practice law anymore because, unlike Matt, he hadn't passed the bar in California prior to being disbarred.

Just give me a healthy Foggy celebrating the fact that he's still alive but also completely frustrated with being super-dependent on Matt and completely unsure what the next stage of his life is supposed to look like.

I can see that Foggy's family took the first plane tha moment they saw teh news cause you know the story would0ve made the national news.
And whe he came hoem after everythign that went down he found two seriously opissed off relatives that slap Matt and Foggy right on the face casue they had no right in doing what they done and then they all kiss them cause they love him.

DA

It's interesting to wonder about what could have come about when his family realised he wasn't dead. Earlier comics seem to have Foggy getting on well with his family, barring Rosalind, but it seems a bit more sketchy in Waid's run: they are explicitly mentioned as not coming to see him while he's in hospital for chemo.

Well earlier comics were also pre-Matt being outed and pre-Foggy faking his death and being in witnessrotection the first time. And Matt's activities have only ever gotten Foggy notoriety and trouble really. So maybe they're not too happy with him.

Hmmm... That may be worth it's own separate prompt really.

There is a scene early in Vol 2 in which Foggy is in a hospital and his step-mother comes. She pretty much slaps Matt around and angrily asks why is it that Matt's always fine when he gets her son shot at/assaulted/almost killed and lands him injured in a hospital. It's clear that she disapproves of Foggy's continued relationship with Matt.

So I could see Foggy's family sort of cutting ties with him because of his refusal to dump Matt. Let's face it - after Matt being outed, having a mental breakdown/manic episode and taking over the Kitchen, a stint in prison (which also included the first time everyone thought Foggy died) and then on top of that Matt going completely cray during Shadowland... He's a dangerous person to be around. "I love you, Franklin, but until you dump that disaster of a maniac, don't bother showing up for Christmas."

FILL: Post-Cancer Foggy is Broke, Disbarred and Supposedly Dead

So it's my own damned prompt, but based on the discussions in the comments, this just would not leave me alone.

It had been three months. Three months since Foggy had watched as the secret of his existence was broadcast across all the major news networks and he'd been forced to come back from the dead. Three months since that moment became bittersweet as he received the news from the doctor that his cancer treatments had worked and he was really able to start living again. Three months since he was kidnapped by Fisk and his goons and spent too many heartbreaking minutes believing that Matt had finally come up against an enemy he couldn't handle, briefly wondering why he had to be the one of the two of them to survive.

Why was he still here? He hadn't been expecting it, if he was being honest with himself. While initially he had been optimistic about his health, after a while all the nausea and fatigue and boredom had started to get to him and he had resigned himself to spending his last few months enjoying every moment he could with his best friend, helping him reminisce and dig through their many adventures to put together an autobiography that was as much about his own life as Matt's, despite whose name was on the cover of the book. It had felt like a nice way to end things.

And now, here he was. Back from the dead. Again.

What the hell was he supposed to now?

He stared at the phone in his hand, terrified to dial the numbers he knew he needed to. Worried about being rejected. Worried that the person on the other end of the line would tell him that the rejection would never come because he was too late for it anyway.

The last time he had "died", when he had been stabbed multiple times in Ryker's prison as Matt listened, when he had woke up and been told that he couldn't go back to his old life, couldn't help his friend, had been awful. Not just because he had felt helpless and trapped knowing that Matt was, well, helpless and trapped without him. And not just because he could barely move without feeling his stitches pull or feeling his organs shifting around the shank wounds in his stomach, the kidney that they had removed to keep him alive.

The worst part came after. It came when he had to face his sister and hear about the night his father had died of a heart attack, the way that his stepmom had broken down thinking that she had lost both the men in her life at once. Candace had sobbed and pushed him away when he tried to comfort her, asked him how he could do that to them. How could he put Matt first? She told him he was just like his mother and that they didn't want him in their family anymore anyway. Anna refused to see him entirely. They had already mourned him.

He'd missed the funeral, too. His father was gone and he never had the chance to say a proper goodbye.

Matt had cried when he'd told him. But Foggy never really wanted to talk about it with him. There was no use in making Matt feel any guiltier about any of it than he already did.

So now, sitting in Matt's living room with nobody else to turn to and nowhere else to go, he stared at the phone hoping and praying that the universe hadn't taken anyone else away from him and that he would finally have a chance to make things right the way he needed to.

He dialed the number. It rang.

"Hello?" the voice on the other end said.

"Mo... Anna," Foggy corrected.

"Oh, Foggy," the woman's voice replied with a sniffle.

Things were going to be okay.
