So canonically, Claire is a little... worryingly enthusiastic about Vladimir getting a flare shoved into his ribs, and she uses her medical knowledge to help interrogate Semyon, and overall she's just kind of more pro-pain than one might expect from a nurse.

I would love to see some sadist!Claire, whether it's in a loving consensual cute way or in a very dark way. Would like it to focus on her rather than her victim, but I will accept anything with this premise.

Ooh, that would be great for some hardcore torture times. :D This OP would definitely love that.

Shit, Vladimir thinking he's endured the most pain a person can when he was in prison and finding that he still has it in him to beg for mercy.

oh just straight up pain he could take I think, but there are other ways to torture someone, might work better with psychological torture thrown in as well... screw him up enough that he doesn't know if he wants to beg for mercy or for more
and hey Claire gets a pet mobster to play with to her sadistic little heart's content, good thing he can endure a lot

OP is now imagining Claire getting him in such a state (drugs lifted from work? Gaslighting? Stockholm Syndrome? I can't decide even for this errant thought) that when Matt finds out he's torn on whether he should take action. And it takes a while to get there, because she has an ironclad excuse to always smell of blood and fear - hospitals are the worst - but then he just bluescreens on it.

Aaaand now I'm thinking of Claire as an AU Punisher, living up to the name and then some, and it's exciting but sort of a departure?

Tl;dr: I am enjoying this ride to Hell, and imagining torturepet!Vladimir is definitely speeding up the cart.

torture and drugs, that could work, she'd want to hurt him out of revenge and she'd have to keep him drugged and restrained so he doesn't get a chance to escape and whatever information about himself he lets slip when he's drugged out of his mind she could use against him if/when she feels that physical pain isn't effective enough...and he'd be especially vulnerable to that if it happens after the tunnels considering he's lost everything, he's still grieving and he's filled with raged but completely helpless to act on any of it; that's a lot of weak points to exploit.

I could see Claire being entirely motivated by revenge at first and slowly realising that she pretty much has power of life and death over Vladimir and she likes that. And she could rationalize it by thinking he deserves it for what he put her through and all the lives he ruined

Would be really interesting to add Stockholm syndrome to it, Vladimir would be completely dependent on her as long as he's injured/restrained/drugged so if Claire were to deny him essentials like food or water (or his next fix if she gets him addicted to something) she could condition him to obey her every command or accept whatever violence she dishes out with a 'please' and 'thank you'

....basically I think I might be beside you on that ride to Hell but damn I want this bad

It's funny because I was thinking of posting a prompt for a dark/cruel AU of one of DD's love interests, but had ruled out Claire because despite occasionally helping to torture people, I still can't help seeing Claire as a fluffy bunny.

BUT. After reading your prompt, it made me think in a different direction. I still can't see Claire being sadistic to a loved one, but I can definitely see her being a very, very vengeful sadist to bad guys.

Maybe she snaps after one too many times seeing Matt on the brink of death, hunts down the people who did it to him one by one and uses all her medical expertise to make them suffer.

Heh. In the fic I'm writing now, I just had Claire point out to Matt that he should be a little less worried about what he's capable of doing to her and be a little more worried about what she's capable of doing to him. So I'm totally down with this read on Claire.

Assuming it's the chapter I just read on AO3 a couple-few hours ago, I LOVED that scene. :)
