Rules:
  • General
    1. YKINMKATO. Play nice. If you don't like something, scroll on.

    2. All comments must be anon. If you would like to be politely banned to avoid anon-failing, leave a logged-in comment on the mod post or pm the mod account.

    3. Subject lines should only be changed if you're posting a prompt or a fill (indicators like OP or Author!Anon should go in the body of the comment).

    4. RPF is allowed. Crossovers, characters from the extended Marvel Universe and comics canon are allowed, but must relate to the 2015 TV show in some way.

    5. Discussion not related to the prompt should be moved to the discussion/off-topic post.

    6. Drop a comment on the mod post if you have any questions or problems.

  • Prompts
    1. All types of prompts are welcome.

    2. Use the subject line for the main idea of your prompt (pairing or characters, keywords, kink).

    3. Warnings are nice, but not mandatory. Get DW Blocker if there's anything you really don't want to see.

    4. Reposted prompts are allowed once one round has passed - i.e., prompts from post #2 cannot be reposted until post #4. Please include a link to where it has been previously posted.

  • Fills
    1. Put [FILL] or something similar in the subject line when posting a fill.

    2. Announce your fill on either the Completed Fills Post or the WIP Post.

    3. Long fills can either be posted over multiple comments, or posted on AO3 and linked back here.

    4. Multiple fills are always okay.

    5. Fills can be anything! Fic, art, vids are all welcome.

    6. If it wasn't written specifically for the prompt, it doesn't count as a fill. You are welcome to provide a link to already existing fic that does fit the prompt, in case the prompter hasn't seen it, but it doesn't count as a fill.

AYRT and also OP, so it's okay for me to suggest things that contradict my own prompt xD

The Frank-needs-a-lawyer scenario works, and makes it even more awkward. I was thinking he'd just dial the number incorrectly (because why would he have Maria in his contacts list?) but anything is okay with me.

He just could never bring himself to remove it. Maybe he never disconnected her phone line and he calls the number every now and again just to listen to her voicemail message... but this time, she picked up, and he's so surprised that he immediately says everything he never got to say.

And then Matt's like ...What do? I don't want to make him any sadder...

Oh man, this prompt was supposed to make me happy. But I do love angst too. Bring on the angst.

Matt would be moved to tears. He'd have to bite his tongue and cover his mouth not to make any sound.

The next day Frank doesn't remember what happened, but there's an outgoing call to Matt registered on his phone and he's confused so he calls Matt to ask about it.

And Matt hesitates to answer because what if it happens again? He picks up but doesn't say anything, but when Frank says "Matt?", he lets out a sigh of relief and answers. Frank asks what he called about, and Matt says that he called because he's been feeling really lonely since Maria died, and maybe they should hang out sometime? As friends? (Just friends, Matt, don't let yourself fall for him, it'll never end well.)

And Frank's like, sure, that sounds nice.

Matt makes sure that no alcohol will be involved in their outing.

This is breaking my heart.

Can this involve Matt passing out on Frank's couch after a late night of just talking? And Frank making pancakes in the morning? He'd make the best pancakes, his kids loved them ;-;

Now I'm imagining an AU where Matt expresses his sense of justice by becoming a prosecutor, and he's prosecuting the person/people responsible for Maria's and the kids' deaths (because I guess we're giving up on the fluff at this point). He ends up working closely with Frank a lot, which is how they end up with each others' numbers.

And then the phone call happens and Matt realizes how badly Frank is hurting. He becomes Frank's support system, and through a combination of that and managing to successfully send the perps to jail for the rest of their lives, he manages to nip any murderous impulses Frank might have been harboring in the bud. Thing is, he fell in love along the way, and no way is Frank going to be ready for that so soon.

Then, one night at three in the morning, he gets another call from Frank. He remembers what happened last time he got a call like this, and he considers letting it ring out; but he answers, in case Frank might really need him. He was right that it was another drunken love confession.

But this time, it's for him.

Oh, man. MAAAAAAAN.

THIS. PLEASE. My little heart needs this fic. I'd marry it and have its babies. Angst with a happy ending is as good as fluff, right? Right!

Seriously, I read this and I had to stop and close my eyes and take a deep breath and give myself a big mental hug. It hurts, but the ending is even better because of it. I need this in my life.
