Rules:
  • General
    1. YKINMKATO. Play nice. If you don't like something, scroll on.

    2. All comments must be anon. If you would like to be politely banned to avoid anon-failing, leave a logged-in comment on the mod post or pm the mod account.

    3. Subject lines should only be changed if you're posting a prompt or a fill (indicators like OP or Author!Anon should go in the body of the comment).

    4. RPF is allowed. Crossovers, characters from the extended Marvel Universe and comics canon are allowed, but must relate to the 2015 TV show in some way.

    5. Discussion not related to the prompt should be moved to the discussion/off-topic post.

    6. Drop a comment on the mod post if you have any questions or problems.

  • Prompts
    1. All types of prompts are welcome.

    2. Use the subject line for the main idea of your prompt (pairing or characters, keywords, kink).

    3. Warnings are nice, but not mandatory. Get DW Blocker if there's anything you really don't want to see.

    4. Reposted prompts are allowed once one round has passed - i.e., prompts from post #2 cannot be reposted until post #4. Please include a link to where it has been previously posted.

  • Fills
    1. Put [FILL] or something similar in the subject line when posting a fill.

    2. Announce your fill on either the Completed Fills Post or the WIP Post.

    3. Long fills can either be posted over multiple comments, or posted on AO3 and linked back here.

    4. Multiple fills are always okay.

    5. Fills can be anything! Fic, art, vids are all welcome.

    6. If it wasn't written specifically for the prompt, it doesn't count as a fill. You are welcome to provide a link to already existing fic that does fit the prompt, in case the prompter hasn't seen it, but it doesn't count as a fill.

Re: Bipolar Matt + Diagnosed on Happenstance

I didn't knew Waid suffers form depression too. That might be another reason why I connect to his writing so much.
Sorry, Peter Parker. I am too old for your puberty stuff. Depressed Matt Murdock and human desaster Clint Barton are the boys in my heart now.
I have read most the issues recommened above and "Born again" has helped me during a very dark time.

AYRT Yeah when I learned that about Waid I was really happy (although his treatment of Norman Osborn in Thunderbolts is really....questionable). I'm still working through volume 3 and 4 of Daredevil (I've skipped around a lot because I do that sometimes) and I love it so much.

Fraction's writing for depressed Clint is really good despite some of his other....issues in Hawkeye volume 4 (like his writing for women *sigh*) If you need more help during dark times and Clint helping someone else he loves through a dark time, I highly recommend New Avengers: The Reunion, Hawkeye & Mockingbird, and Widowmaker. Bobbi Morse is incredible and deals with PTSD in these volumes as she and Clint try and fail to rebuild their relationship.

Also Clint has kind of a mental breakdown in Dark Reign: The List and New Avengers Annual vol 3 where he is so angered by Norman Osborn having so much influence that he thinks if he just goes and tries to kill him on his own he will win by the power of just being really really angry. It doesn't work out well for him.

Hawkeye: Blindspot deals with his emotional upset over losing his sight but like be warned that the art is so bad you might not realize the story is good.

Other good mental illness plotlines: Hank Pym in Avengers AI discusses being bipolar and it's really really well written. He also has a plotline in West Coast Avengers where he is suicidal (and really accurately written) starting in issue 16 with the real meat of it being in issue 17 (called Outta Time) and him being rehabilitated after it. He also has a nineties plotline called Ultron Unlimited in Avengers volume 3 starting in #18 or #19 where he reveals Ultron was built on his own brain patterns and has All The Guilt. Also Avengers Academy from 2010 is a team he leads and that deals extensively with the trauma of the teenagers at the Academy as well as with the teachers. And Hawkeye is there for the second half but he mostly just hangs out and doesn't do much. Story of his life tbh.

I kid, he's been leader of the West Coast Avengers and the Thunderbolts. He has done a lot in his career.

Basically I have a lot of comix recs for mentally ill characters because I am thirsty for mentally ill characters and seek them out.
