Matt squirming against Frank's hold, feeling the heat of a blush climb his chest, but every time he opens his mouth to argue Frank presses his thigh into Matt's crotch and he ends up gasping instead. And it's surprising how much it turns Matt on, because he had never thought being hurt like this would work, but feeling like a fraud and Frank forcing him to nod, agree that he's one of the good guys before he'll let Matt come..? It hurts. Leaves him clinging to Frank afterwards (and shit, he's walked away whistling with honest-to-God whipmarks on his back), while Frank settles him like a spooked horse.

Do I detect a pony play prompt in the offing?

It was supposed to be more of a suggestion to make more references to the size of a certain part of Frank's anatomy. But I guess it could be interpreted as a prompt for more riding crops.

Hmmm...this is an interesting compromise. I was thinking that they might be able to work out some non-pain related dominance/submission sort of play, but this works well, too. (So, so very well.)

Oooh yes. And maybe Frank reverses it completely, and hands out things like spankings as *rewards* when Matt forces himself to agree to the praises, takes them without argueing, manages to *relax* to them - and then, playful punishments like spankings or a bit of hair-pulling (which, lets be frank, probably don't even *regjster* on the pain perception these two have) can happen when Matt is happy and feels loved (and therefore obviously decides he can be a mouthy little shit again).

AYRT. I love this idea so much. Like, as a birthday treat or something (and after a week of being good and acknowledging his own goodness because hey, this stuff has to be earned), Frank asks Matt if he owns anything like a cane. Once a year, Frank can just about manage it, and it turns out that Matt likes the anticipation as much as the slap itself anyway so he spends like four hours talking dirty to him and trailing the damn thing over every inch of Matt he can reach. He only ends up giving him ten and Matt's blissed out of his mind.

Incredibly angsty aftercare with a massive slab of dom drop probaby not optional, and Frank feels like hell for days afterwards.

Yessss, this would be a really cool contrast to the kinks we get here more regularly, like, Matt being a caretaker and Frank being comforted, and Matt telling him how good he made him feel first with the cane and then inside him, and how much he enjoyed being taken care of by Frank. :3
I was also totally thinking how it would work that way, like, by "actual" pain like a whipping or caning being so *rare*, how it would then have the same effect Matt earlier had to chase by ever more severe beatings and punishments.

Extra bonus for Frank gradually getting at least into the lighter, more harmless punishments, simply because Matt is so blissed out when he gets them and has fun teasing and mouthing off to Frank until he does.

Frank would be able to justify to himself that it's a decent tradeoff; he gets to have Matt cuddled against him and he has something specific to praise him for, and Matt never argues because he knows he can take a beating well. But Frank's the one who uses the safeword the most, and they learn quickly that the weeks after Frank deals with a domestic abuser are weeks when Matt's going to be a Good Boy and damn well like it.

Also, if the OP is tracking this, are we hijacking with this? I would hate to put you out on your own prompt.

OP is having fun still. I wasn't really sure how the situation could work out favorably, but this is a solution that both works and that leaves lots of room for future angst. I'm all for it!

Mmm, I really like the idea of Frank eventually learning to tolerate certain low-intensity scenes, but still feeling intensely guilty about it at his low moments. Like, the first time Matt talks him into letting them try something, Frank safewords out and doesn't stop trembling for nearly half an hour afterwards, Matt standing by the whole time, just being there for him until he's recovered enough to talk. And Frank explains, insofar as he's able, that yes he kills people, yes he hurts people, but never the people he loves, never the ones who trust him. He's not a good man, by any stretch of the imagination, but he's better than this, better than the people who would hurt a partner like this. And Matt tries to explain that doing a scene requires such a deep level of trust, on both sides, that it's not the same situation as abuse at all...but he knows that Frank isn't in any state to hear it, so he doesn't press the issue.

Slowly, they work on it, going through some lighter scening that lets Frank get used to trusting Matt to tell him when he needs him to stop and, more importantly, trusting himself to stop. And then Frank starts to go up against a villain who is also a wife-beater, and suddenly it's like he's back at square one.

...By which I mean, YES, please. o.o All of the angst, I say, ALL of it...

Nooooooo *fingers in ears* No, it doesn't, the scene goes perfectly well, and they share snarky remarks over coffee the next morning, with Matt having trouble sitting at the counter (but loving the fact that he does). Yes. This is what happens. Right?

Eventually, Frank gets to be comfortable with doing the scene because Matt is so clearly enjoying it...but afterwards? Seeing bruises on Matt's body and knowing he put them there? Watching Matt move awkwardly to compensate for injuries that are his fault?

That's the part that makes Frank sick.

It's also one of Matt's favorite parts.
