RPF is allowed. Crossovers, characters from the extended Marvel Universe and comics canon are allowed, but must relate to the 2015 TV show in some way.

Discussion not related to the prompt should be moved to the discussion/off-topic post.

Drop a comment on the mod post if you have any questions or problems.

Prompts

Use the subject line for the main idea of your prompt (pairing or characters, keywords, kink).

Matt didn't say anything.

"Also," Foggy said, because he was nervous and still too tipsy for this. "Bulletin: please avoid getting punched in the face until we fake-break-up, I guess." He sighed. "That really just came out of my mouth, huh?"

"Oh no, now he thinks we're dating," Matt said, and sure, it was a disaster, but he didn't have to sound quite so full of abject horror. Foggy would've defended - his honor? fake-him's honor? how were you supposed to defend the honor of a hypothetical Foggy, the one fake-Matt would've been dating? - but he didn't want to get into it. There was still a chance that Matt might not be sober enough to politely ignore that finally.

"You can dump me," Foggy said. "Give it a week or two. Brett'll buy it."

"Why would I dump you?" Matt said. "You should dump me."

"So I can look like an extra-crispy asshole?"

"What?" Matt said. Oh, that was the thing that would calm him down: great. "No, just - there's no reason for me to dump you, that wouldn't make sense."

"You were sent to try me," Foggy said. "I - oh, don't make that face, I meant none of it. I'm the one making you dress up like a wanted criminal for sex reasons, Matt, you should dump people like that."

Matt frowned. "Daredevil isn't a wanted - plenty of people do that, that's normal."

"Plenty of people." Foggy could feel himself getting sweaty and red, around the ears, but: "plenty of people, how do you know that?"

Matt shrugged. "I hear stuff at night," he said, which was more than Foggy had ever wanted to know about the way the general public reacted to Daredevil. "But why," Matt said, changing the subject, which had Foggy nervous already, "why would I dump you after you finally got around to confessing your...crush?" He'd gone pink over his nose, and he'd started giggling half-way through. Unacceptable: Matt clearly wasn't taking this seriously enough.

"We could've been arrested tonight," Foggy tried.

"Weren't, though!"

"Look, it's dumb - oh, I'm glad you're enjoying this," he said. It would be wrong, he reminded himself, to throw Matt's Daredevil suit in the trash after he fell asleep tonight. It wouldn't help the blinding humiliation of this moment, either, not really, but still. He wanted to do something. "I just. I wasn't sure if you were straight, back in law school. Brett tricked me into talking about it a couple of times."

"You had a crush," Matt sang. Where the hell this good mood had sprung up from, Foggy had no idea, but - well, the adrenaline, probably. Of course. His lunatic of a friend would react well to near-death experiences, so why not get goofy right after they almost destroyed their lives?

"Had," Foggy said. "Not any more, trust me," and tried not to freeze in fear, because that'd been a fucking lie, a lie in front of Matt - who'd missed it completely, because he was too busy giggling like an asshole and flopping all over Foggy's kitchen table.

"Lies," Matt gasped. "You want this," so Foggy chanced it and said "wanted, get off my table," and it turned into a shoving match.

Ooooh god yes. They are essentially gonna bluff each other into a relationship because neither of them want to be the dumper.

That needs to be a prompt on it's own.
