If I remember my comics cannon correctly the winter soldier was an on/off trainer in the red room programme? So the whole time he's eyeing up Foggy in a 'where do i know you from' kind of way until the sparring happens and then he's like 'thats right! i remember now'

i just did a sharp intake of air. i need this.

Matt becomes so obsessed with anxiety that he is evil/dissatisfying to god/being punished by god/unworthy that it begins to interfere with his work and crime fighting and eventually makes him too depressed to get out of bed.

Okay, I should preface this that I'm not Christian or raised in any religion, but wouldn't this be a good thing?

I'm saying this because as far as I know the Rapture is not a Catholic thing but a Protestant Evangelical thing that may be kind of non-canon beliefs like those fat guardian angels and prosperity doctrine?

So wouldn't he want not to be taken?

Foggy grew up on a HYDRA base,being groomed to take over for The Winter Soldier if something ever happened to him.He eventually escapes into a "normal" life,and desperately tries to put his past behind him.It's going pretty well.

Until Matt starts working with the Avengers,that is,and Foggy and Bucky meet once again.Since neither of them want to speak about the past,they avoid each other completely,and are very cautious when they have to be near each other.

Eventually everyone notices and confronts them on it.

I'm atheist, but if the Rapture DID happen, I wouldn't be going, "Nah, it's alright, I don't believe in any of that." I would be more like, "OH FUCK, I WAS WRONG!!!"

But that's just me. =P

But wouldn't the most logical reaction be "Shit. Aliens." or something like that? in the MCU I mean.

Tony insists he has the best and one of the most inclusive companies ever.

Tell that to Matt Murdock who is trying to make his way in the Stark building to the legal department relating to a case. He's there to meet Foggy.

With the lack of Braille, holographs (that he interacts with without realizing it), and helpful AI - Matt somehow ends up in the Avengers' floors. He knows he's lost and eventually calls Foggy for help.

Cue awkward" "HOW DID YOU GET IN HERE?!" and "Uh I'm going to sue you as soon as I figure out how to get out of here. I also have to go out the bathroom?" with Foggy's "We're going to sue you. Also how the fuck did you end up here?"

aaah, yes, that was the one! (and, one question, what does 'DA' mean? I have seen it several times in this kinkmeme, but all I'm coming up with is 'Russian for 'yes'' and that doesn't make much sense XD

So like. The idea of the Apocalypse (literally "the reveal," i.e. of God's Divine Plan)/the End of Days/the Eschaton (lit. "the last moment") is pretty much an important part of about every Christian belief system, but the way that it's supposed to be going to happen will vary depending on each sect (or even each theologian). This stems at least partially from the fact that, in the Bible, just about every mention of it is dramatically different. Take, for example, these two drastically different portraits from the Thessalonian Epistles, supposedly both written by Paul to the same community, possibly within weeks of each other (translations NRSV):

"For since we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so, through Jesus, God will bring with him those who have died. For this we declare to you by the word of the Lord, that we who are alive, who are left until the coming of the Lord, will by no means precede those who have died. For the Lord himself, with a cry of command, with the archangel’s call and with the sound of God’s trumpet, will descend from heaven, and the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive, who are left, will be caught up in the clouds together with them to meet the Lord in the air; and so we will be with the Lord for ever." (1 Thess 4:14-17)

"Let no one deceive you in any way; for [The Day of the Lord] will not come unless the rebellion comes first and the lawless one is revealed, the one destined for destruction. He opposes and exalts himself above every so-called god or object of worship, so that he takes his seat in the temple of God, declaring himself to be God. Do you not remember that I told you these things when I was still with you? And you know what is now restraining him, so that he may be revealed when his time comes. For the mystery of lawlessness is already at work, but only until the one who now restrains it is removed. And then the lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord Jesus will destroy with the breath of his mouth, annihilating him by the manifestation of his coming. The coming of the lawless one is apparent in the working of Satan, who uses all power, signs, lying wonders, and every kind of wicked deception for those who are perishing, because they refused to love the truth and so be saved. For this reason God sends them a powerful delusion, leading them to believe what is false, so that all who have not believed the truth but took pleasure in unrighteousness will be condemned." (2 Thess 2:3-12)

Obviously, the tone of these two passages is DRAMATICALLY different, despite that they are obviously meant to refer to the same event. Now, I'm no expert in recent developments of theology, but it seems like the concept of the Rapture (as I believe the OP intends it) stems from an attempt to reconcile these two types of portrayals: the true believers/elect/beloved of God will be taken up to be with him, while those who "believe what is false" will be left behind to endure the apocalypse/armageddon. (For the sake of my sanity, let's not get into the question of millennialism, kay? Kay.)

So, basically, what Matt's not getting raptured would mean is that he believed in a false God/was fooled by agents of Satan and thus didn't qualify to have his soul saved. This reading would fit with certain interpretations throughout history that have identified the Pope with 2 Thess' Man of Lawlessness calling himself God...although, obviously, that passage gets used against every authority figure ever that the interpreter might not like, from Caligula to Hitler, so.

In any case, not being taken would most definitely NOT be a good thing, because it would mean that your immortal soul is eternally damned and all you have to look forward to is a brief, hard life lived with the knowledge that there is no greater purpose to your existence.

I'm currently writing Foggy as cousins with Jennifer Walters, Kate Bishop, and Carol Danvers (and former high school lab partners with Reed Richards) so yeah I am totally up for something like this.

OMG, awesome (I'm the anon who wrote the ideas) I'd kinda love an ending where Frank manages to leave/hide *just* before an Avenger comes in and Matt is totally debauched/dishevelled on the bed/over the chair/wherever Frank left him and decides then and there that he is going to *kill* Frank whenever he sees him again.

so, there was this movie where the main leads were kind of dating each other or something and there's this one time where they end up naked (or almost naked idk) in someone's house and they have, what I remember as one of the most hot intimacy-keen teasing which didn't end up in actual penetration-sex. (maybe...not sure XD) anyway, one of them had a flower and used it to brush it against the other's skin and (this it'll be my guess and desire) describing what would they do to each area when the flower reaches it. all without using hands or any other body parts.

XD Also, Foggy would probably be torn in between 'I don't want them to see you as a lab rat or a freak, Matt' and 'I actually seriously want to know too' so he comes along to the tests to make sure Matt is okay with everything :3
