Because I've been rewatching both shows for the past two days and I remembered that Kevin (Holt's husband) is an English professor at Columbia -- and you all know where I'm getting at here. Crossover any way you like; Foggy and Matt were his students? Maybe even met Holt at some point in Kevin's career? Were Raymond and Kevin impressed by this ray of sunshine's love for Thurgood Marshall?

Or maybe it doesn't even have to be Kevin-related. Though Daredevil works in Hell's Kitchen and Brooklyn Nine-Nine is set in Brooklyn (duh), maybe a character from either show ends up in the other show's city and they meet? Jake gets involved with the wrong crowd and Daredevil has to save him? Or the Nine-Nine meet the Defense Attorneys from Hell('s Kitchen, as they so lovingly dubbed Foggy and Matt). Get creative as heck.

BUT hopefully the fic will be Jake, Kevin, Holt, or Daredevil character-centric. No romantic, inter-show ships either. Meep morp zarp, robot anon out!

There are just so many possibilities.

This could call for another disastrous Holt dinner. :D Holt invites Jake, Raymond invites Foggy and Matt from their Columbia days. Jake is like Holt why did you invite the defense attorneys why have you betrayed me father figure

Is there a particular issue that you'd like them to be debating? I love this and think I could fill it, but it'd be easier if given a starting point.

Yeah, the assumption that he's soooo super Catholic is confusing to me, because based on what we saw, he:

1) Clearly hasn't had a priest or been to church in a while since he's only just meeting Father Lantom

2) Had no issue with cursing or taking the Lord's name in vain accidentally in front of Father Lantom

3) Isn't incredibly devoted to his Catholicism in the comics, aside from the imagery being heavily leaned on and his mother's association with the church. In fact, if anything in the comics he's more attuned to eastern religions and meditation through his associations with the Hand and the Chaste

It's just a conclusion that everyone in fandom has collectively come to - group head canons are so interesting to me sometimes.

So Matt has teamed up area times with the Avengers but to them, Matt is only blindISH.
Basically Matt is being treated shitty (of course he won't speak up) and finally Foggy storms Avengers tower in fury when he finds out. Maybe he makes them ALL sit through a PowerPoint titled 'How NOT to be a Dick!'

*Maybe whenever they order takeout everyone ASSUMES Matt can read the menu so Matt either copies someone else's order or gets nothing.
*Matt gets shit for refusing to drive or operate a machine
*Surveilence videos are often played and no one narrates
*Matt keeps getting invited to play video games or to watch movies but no voice over

These are just a few ideas please, go wild and anons! I just adore furious, protective Foggy. Would love to see him go full lawyer mode on the avengers. :-)

I mean, the show shoves us in that direction, what with the confession and the chilling with a priest and the church in the intro sequence. Fandom has run with it, but those details are enough of an anomaly that it's not a weird thing to latch on to.

Would the "flackback" be from the other person's sense memory? Thus, Foggy wouldn't "see" what happened between Matt and Stick, he would "feel/hear/smell" it.

Or, they could get hits because of his father's DNA being in the system (even if he never did anything, his murder was processed and he'd be in). Knowing they had a close male relative of Jack Murdock would obviously send them to Matt.

That's kind of how I picured it, yeah. It would also give Foggy a better idea I'd the whole 'world on fire' thing

But really it's up to whoever fills it, if they have a different idea, then I have no qualms with that.

Yeah, uh, can I get me some more fics where Foggy's always been a girl and she's in love with Matt?

Usually, fanfics portray Foggy as the caregiver in their relationship (and I love that!), but to me it's clear from their interactions in the show that Foggy also feels grateful for Matt, and I would like to read something that explores those feelings!
Show me some of the things, big and small, that Matt has done for Foggy or still does for him on a regular basis. Little favours, emotional support, gestures of affection, adjustments and compromises, just generally taking care of him when he needs it etc.

I'd like a sprinkle of romance to go with my fluff, but friendship would be fine, too! (Or pining. I'm always here for not-actually-unrequited pining.)
