Matt refocused on her (he'd been listening hard, for sirens: you didn't hear them in this part of the city) and suppressed the urge to back up. He was almost sure she was looking at him. "No," he agreed.

"Is it because you're blind?" she asked, and that was - not what he'd expected. Foggy was the only other person who spoke to him so bluntly about that, and it felt wrong to think of Foggy, here. He laughed because he knew she was watching him, and he didn't want her to think that she'd found a weak point.

“Probably,” he said. “I hope that doesn't bother you.”

“No,” she said, thoughtfully.

Yeah.... oooh, maybe he hears their heartbeat and catches them in a "lie" of some kind, and he doesn't call them on it, because he knows they're lying/anxious but doesn't know about WHAT yet, and he's trying not to panic even though he feels like the rug has been pulled out underneath him (because once they all got past the posturing Matt can give them credit for being pretty blunt/honest with him). So then he listens in on their conversation and hears (whatever) and and and his brain just kind of needs to do a reboot because they lied (what did you expect, Matt?) and they used him (stupid stupid STUPID) and they tricked him into thinking they actually cared and now he's put everyone in danger and - (hold power button to shut down and restart) *beep*

Matt never got chickenpox as a child. While out being Daredevil, he saves a kid that was kidnapped, not knowing that he had chickenpox. With his enhanced senses, he's a bundle of misery. Que Foggy and Karen taking care of him.

Bonus if one of them decides to give him an oatmeal bath and Matt is super embarrassed and self conscious.

There's a few fics about "Foggy comes back" on a previous page, and one where Foggy apologizes for yelling at Matt when he was so hurt, but none that handle things from quite this angle and I need it.

It's hilarious to me that you mention how condescending he is to her, because oh man BEWARE THE COMICS if you have a problem with it in the show. Especially the Frank Miller run. Matt is honestly the shittiest person ever to all women in the comics until very, very recently (and even then he's pretty condescending sometimes and kind of a narcissist to his newest girlfriend). Basically, he has some serious issues with women. So you picking up on this trend in the show makes me giggle.

Like, he literally tells a girlfriend who loves him who inherited a powerful company from her father and wants to be CEO that she should give the company up to marry him and cook him dinner, encourages her heavily to do so even when she tries to make him understand, and then sabotages her behind her back to get what he wants. It is one of those things that you know at the time people took straight, but it's hard not to just laugh at it as a relic now.

Because they're now spending a lot more time together, and Matt seems to have extra bruises (rough sex? Karen didn't know they were into that!) and there's been a few times she has walked in on the boys and Matt is shirtless as Foggy is STANDING RIGHT THERE and-

Do you think the show is doing it on purpose, then? If it's so prevalent in the comics, is it more likely that the creators know what they're doing, or that it's so ingrained that its inclusion is subconscious...?

The devil of Hell's kitchen is actually a devil. He makes deals with criminals and if they don't hold up their end of the bargain, he takes them out. (The bargains are small, like a bag of gold for certain favors)

When Foggy asks for favors, he always delivers on his side of the deals. The Devil is surprised but wonderfully amused by this reliability. It's getting to a point where the Devil is asking for ridiculous shit just to see what Foggy would do to get the favor done.

Then one day, the Devil is shocked when Foggy offers up his soul for a favor.

So above there is a prompt about Matt getting the chicken pox as an adult. Let's say, Matt got them when he was a kid, before the whole "painfully heightened senses" thing. And now, in this period of high stress and tension, it rears it's ugly head again, this time as shingles. Which, the OP and her normal senses can attest to, is akin to being set on fire. Constantly. For a period of 2-4 weeks. ~~IT IS LITERALLY AN INFLAMMATION OF YOUR NERVE ENDINGS AND ACTUAL HELL~~

I'm sorry I'm trash but I enjoy seeing Matt suffer and have to let others tAKE CARE OF HIM FOR ONCE.

Matt, Foggy and Karen drive to upstate New York (it doesn't matter why - to try and find a witness, or locate documents at a little archive that hasn't digitized everything yet), and someone or something runs them off the road. Now they're in the woods and it's dark and there's something chasing them.

Matt's got a saviour complex on top of his martyr complex. Also, he knows he has like... negative zero percent handle on the situation with Fisk and then he hears that Karen and Ben are doing their own thing, and so I kind of got the vibe off him that he felt like he was herding cats. It never occurred to him that he'd have to worry about what the "normals" were doing on top of his weird vigilante/ninja problems, haha.

Which, I mean, Ben ended up strangled to death for their meddling and Karen nearly got killed/raped by those two guys (her pepper spray did jack shit until Foggy came along) and then she also got kidnapped and nearly killed by Wesley, so I don't know whether I'd call his concern "condescending" per se. I think he was definitely trying to gain some control of a situation that's rapidly unravelling in his hands, and he was worried about the safety of his people.

Give me Frank's reaction to what these cretins have done to his rival/friend, while Matt struggles to maintain his moral code in light of what happened to him (because Punisher would gladly take down his assailants, all Matt has to do is ask really...even then he might just do it on his own, Matt's wishes be damned) Would love if it included UST but no preestablished relationship; perhaps it morphs into something more or perhaps it stays under the radar.
