Matt uses Earthbending to sense vibrations in the ground. He's also invented metalbending, but hasn't told anyone. (Shhhh...)

Foggy and Karen are nonbenders, but do have a special relationship with spirits. Foggy in particular cause he once studied to be an Air nomad. Claire, of course, knows waterbending and is a healer.

Fisk is a dangerous earthbender who knows lavabending. Stick is an airbender.

Ooh, who would be the Avatar in this world? The possibilities...

I'd like to imagine it's Steve Rogers, but you can choose someone else if you want. =)

Ugh, Stick would totally do that suck-air-outta-people's-lungs thing that fandom theorized about for years and that got confirmed in Korra. (I think it did, right? Haven't actually seen S3 or S4 of Korra myself.)

Yup, that totally happened! Cause we've never seen an 'evil' airbender before, such a technique has never been done on the show. But you should totally watch s3 and 4. I know S2 was a bit.... meeehh... but 3 and 4 are really good.

S2 was SO BAD. Like, the only moderately ok episodes were the 'origin of the Avatar' two-parter. After that I gave up. However, the confirmation of Korra/Asami as canon (and lots of good reviews) has convinced me to go back and try S3/4. Just haven't gotten to it yet.

I read the title on this and thought it was the Avatar movie, like, Matt goes to another world and gets a new body. He can see but has none of his other heightened senses. Lawyering in space?

Ok ok ok but.... Matt Murdock is a nonbender. At one point, Foggy asks him if he's "one of those blind earthbenders" and Matt just laughs. The Devil of Hell's Kitchen, however, leaves criminals with third degree burns in the shape of hand prints. Foggy finds it difficult to reconcile the two. (Because, let's be honest, Matts fighting style lends itself to firebending quite nicely. Also, he canonically can sense heat and pressure differences in the air. There's a lot than can be said about the "world on fire" here, and anger issues scream fire bender.) NOBU, however, is a metal bender if I've ever seen one. Jack Murdock was a nonbender, but earth nation blood ran deep in him (and in Matt as well) in that he refused to crumble under pressure. Matt gets the firebending from his mother. As for Karen, sure, legally speaking she's never shown any sign of bending capability, but only because her parents taught her how to hide it like Stick taught Matt. Wesley wasn't dumb enough to leave a loaded gun on the table in front of them, but he was dumb enough to kidnap a bloodbender on the full moon. In other words, I kind of want to write this, but it'd probably be nothing like op wanted.

I think there was another Avatar Prompt that was more open-ended? And you could always just write it and post it on Ao3 without filling a specific prompt? In any case, if you wrote this I would read it. It sounds really interesting!
