(i haven't written fic in forever, and this is my first daredevil thing, so forgive me for how rough it is, but i was inspired by this so here:)

It was after one of those nights where Matt just didn't have the energy to put up his usual fight- he and Fisk finally pull away from each other, panting with exertion, and Matt throws his arm over his face, hiding in the crook of his elbow, too tired to deal with any more of Fisk's observations about his self control (lack thereof). He's back to feeling that particular mix of embarrassment and shame that usually comes in the wake of these interludes, in that vulnerable space between the rage and fear that Fisk coaxes from him, leaving him spent-

Fisk shifts on the bed (firm hotel mattress, cleaner than most but still stinking of its previous occupants no matter how many times the sheets change) and he can hear the click of the bedside lamp turning off. This is usually where he makes his exit, but tonight he just- can't. He doesn't want to get up, doesn't want to put his costume back on ("Ridiculous. No wonder you have no trouble wearing this- you can't see how gaudy it really is.") and make his way over the rooftops back to his apartment. The sheets are still sandpaper against his skin, but tonight it's- bearable.

Fisk clears his throat, in that strangely awkward way he has, and says, "Turn onto your side." Matt blinks into the darkness, uselessly, and must take too long to comply because Fisk is reaching out, manhandling him into position. He puts up a cursory struggle for pride's sake, little more than a jabbing of elbows and annoyed grumbling, and suddenly finds himself being penned in by Fisk's arms, pulled back against his chest, and, oh-

"Why do I have to be the little spoon?" he mutters, but something inside him is secretly relieved- to be held, for once, instead of being held down- but it feels wrong, too, because this is a level of intimacy that doesn't sit right with him, even after being fucked into total incomprehension, even after begging for it, leaving his inhibitions at the door (or window, as it were)-

Fisk doesn't even bother replying. Matt can hear his heartbeat slowing as he drifts, not quite sleeping, and despite himself he relaxes into it- just for a moment. It's not so much of a concession, after all, with everything he's given up already.

Hey, this is the author anon of the tiny!fill this was inspired from and YAY! You're so cool, anon. I liked the bit about how Matt thought falling asleep in Fisk's arms was waaaaaay more intimate than any of the filthy buttsex they've been doing, haha.

Aww yeah, Matt can get the shit beat out of him but god forbid someone treat him nicely.

I might follow it up with Matt feeling super guilty about how this clusterfuck is turning out, and Vanessa confronting him about it somehow.
