fill: Steve Rogers/Matt Murdock, Alpha/Beta/omega verse 1/?

(Anonymous) 2015-06-04 01:03 am (UTC)(link)
It isn't that an omega couldn't be a hero, vigilante, or even super villain.

Times had changed, and time was always changing. It had long since passed the time when it was common to have the mindset that the world belonged to Alphas, and that there were certain jobs only Alphas were capable of doing. Naturally, Omegas were allowed the same opportunities as Alphas. They held jobs that were once considered 'Alpha only.' So it wasn't as if an Omega couldn't be a vigilante. It's just that there weren't very many, and perhaps that was why it hadn't bothered Steve until he actually saw one.

It didn't bother Steve the way it bothered others. It wasn't the mindset of 'an omega should know his/her place.' In fact, Steve felt that the progression of the rights of omegas was a good thing. But seeing the Daredevil take a beating... Well, that didn't sit right with him. It wasn't until he saw one in action, did he feel the first stirrings of protest to the idea that omegas could ever become vigilantes. You had to be a real dick to take advantage of an omega. Steve had come from a different time, a time where an omega was a pretty little thing meant to be protected. The way the Daredevil's head was smashed into the concrete wall wasn't pretty at all. The way he was taking a beating made Steve's gut twist into knots. His first thought upon seeing Matt, wasn't good he smelled, how small he looked, or even how handsome he was.

His first thought was, 'He's going to get himself killed.'

Matt on the other hand could feel his assailant's hot breath on his neck, and smell the blood running down his forehead where it was held against the wall. He could taste it too, on his teeth, as his lip curled, baring them. He fought to jerk his elbow back, to twist his body out of the hold he was in, but Matt is too tired. Too weak. Emotional. Stick had always said Matt was too emotional and he'd let his emotions take over this time. So he doesn't succeed. In pulses, he can see his zipper being tugged down. It's to the back of his suit, and Matt's heart felt like it would rip through his chest all of a sudden. "No," He hears himself, a strangled sound that cannot be a plea. Too prideful, as if Matt is denying that this is happening rather than begging for it not to. It was blatant refusal.

Matt hadn't been outmatched. He'd been careless. But then his assailant is gone, and Matt slumps to the floor, fingers flitting across the alleyway floor for his Billy club. He hadn't registered anyone else there. The blow to the head made his head feel numb, made him believe he was actually seeing the sun once more (and all it's blindingly hot pain), and all he could hear is buzzing. And then-

"Can't try that on me."

It's the scent of that Alpha and the voice of Captain America. He'd heard it vaguely on television from time to time. He has to stand up, has to move-

Matt pushes himself up into a crouch against the wall when he comes to his senses. Steve is in a fight with his opponent, and of course, Steve's got the upper hand being that he hadn't been out fighting all night. This is thought a bit sourly on Matt's part, who spits a glob of blood out. It hits the floor with a wet smack, and Captain America reached out for the metal lid of a trashcan slamming it into the man's head. There's an impressive dent in the lid, and the man falls to the floor. The 'thumpthumpthump'ing of his heart indicated that he was still alive. Matt is about to stand and thank Steve when instead, Steve comes to his side, speaking in a gentle tone that Matt doesn't understand but appreciates if not for politeness, then the headache he feels coming on.

"Just stay right here, I'll call someone and get you some help. You're going to be fine. You're... What in god's name were you thinking-"

"No Hospital." Matt mumbled, head bowing forward as he fought to keep it up.

"I'm not leaving you to bleed out," Steve wasn't sure the extent of his wounds but there was an awful lot of blood leaking through the holes of his mask. He continued his earlier statement,"What in God's name were you thinking? You trying to get yourself killed back there? You near did." Or worse, he doesn't say,"You're not meant to fight."

The Daredevil has the nerve to smile at him, but it's bitter and it exposes his bloodstained teeth. "Time's are a changing," He said wryly, and oh, how Steve knew that. He gathers Daredevil into his arms, fireman style, all the leather pressing up against his body. It's almost enough to make him blush. Almost.

"I can walk," Daredevil nearly slurs, with all that blood in his mouth. He's had a long night, filled with gang wars and thugs and- and- and Matt can't think it. But nobody saw. Nobody had seen what had happened right? What didn't happen, and almost did. But Steve... Captain America had. Captain America was holding Matt in his arms like... like... Matt can't think it. So he doesn't. So he lets his head fall onto Steve's shoulder, lets himself drift off to the sound of a thumping heart.
