I've got a good rule: don't make a person feel like they've asked a stupid question. Assume there's no such thing.
I've even seen it happen here on the Discussion Post - someone asks a question about an interpretation of the show's plot or a legal matter or geographical location and someone jumps in to tell them that they're completely wrong in their belief or how they framed their question, making them feel like a dick (often with zero context regarding why the person is asking or the fic they're writing).
It's not cool and it makes otherwise fine people feel too intimidated to post or do anything but lurk.
Shaming anyone for anything, really, is always a bad move.
What I've noticed about kinkmeme is that everything boils down to DONT BE NEGATIVE. I mostly frame it in my mind where the kinkmeme is one of those input output machines form like elementary school math class. And if you put negativity in, you get negativity out. And after a while of doing this you just break the machine because no one wants to be in a negative space where they don't feel good posting.
I mean that's not to say NEVER EVER WANK EVER. Because some disagreement, some wank, some tense debate is important to making it feel like the space is open to ideas and alternative options, but when you then close out of those threads and all you see is more negativity where it serves no purpose, why would one want to stay?
If someone's fill is called "plugging" or if a writer sees another filler's fill being called "plugging" then why would that person want to write?
Kinkmemes are set up to make fillers feel amazing when sharing the work they made for the kinkmeme. If instead of giving fillers, who I think are one of the most important cogs in the kinkmeme machine, positivity, and instead give them negativity, why will they ever write for the kinkmeme again?
And you're never going to find a kinkmeme with too many writers and too few prompters, but we're tripping over ones with a lot prompters and not enough writers.
(That's not to say writers are infalable. It's just to say don't under value them and for gods sake, don't be a random dick to them.)
But yeah, no problem with that on this kinkmeme. Just to restate.
In fact, I'd like to share a story.
I was working on a fill, posting about 200-500 words scene snippets at a time, and every time I'd post I'd drift away, write a little more, and when I came back I was showered in love and positive comments from everyone tracking the thread. It took what was just going to be a mini fill, kept me writing for hours and turned it into a much longer and better piece than it would have been. It was hands down the best kinkmeme experience I ever had. I don't have the words to describe just how impactful that night was on my interaction and view of this kinkmeme since then. It was truely amazing.
But in some spaces it's not possible. And that's just devastating.
I think a good off-topic board is also vital. Because part of what makes this meme awesome are things like the "Ask a New Yorker" or "Ask About Medicine" threads that popped up here.
When people have identified issues with people getting things wrong in fic frequently (especially pertaining to Matt's disability), they've generally been constructive and helpful instead of rage-filled.
And shooting down people's questions or requests for help really discourages that going forward and shuts it down.
Yes! I also thing a less... stick way to interact with the people on the kinkmeme is really important. It's what creates that sense of community rather than the idea that a kinkmeme is a magical place to order fics on the go or whatever.

So it's amazing that everyone is so supportive.
