you do it your own way. Noone is gonna drag you. If you are confident enough do it. Im not the ebst writer but i put osome of the stuff i writen because i feel they are good maybe not to everyone's standars but if you acomplished what you wanted with your story then it's great
Can't help you with the fic writing class. I've never heard of such a thing, though maybe somebody else has?
If you want to write the fic, I support you 100%, anon! It may be your first fic, but everybody has to start somewhere. Just remember, your writing doesn't have to be perfect for people to enjoy it.
If I try to write will I get dragged through the mud?
Anytime we put our writing on the internet, there's a chance a troll will target it, like what happened with the other fill for that prompt. But honestly, that doesn't happen very often on this meme. I've been here since the start, and most anons here are kind and supportive.
Ultimately, you should do what makes you comfortable. If you write something and you want to post it, you should! And if you don't feel ready, then you can just keep practicing until you do.
As the OP of that prompt, I'm overjoyed you want to fill it.
I've never heard of a fic writing class (probably just any writing class at all would be applicable), but I eould be happy to touch base with you and beta it for you!
If you're worried about it, having a beta editor be a sounding board and second set of eyes before you post can help you feel more confident. I've written a ton of fic and I've never had people be too critical so I'd love to help.
Come find me. I'm enthusiasmgirl.tumblr.com.
If you've never had a Beta before, I also put out a fanfiction podcast and we did a whole episode on Betas. That's at otpodcast.tumblr.com.
Maybe this will help? http://www.wikihow.com/Write-a-Fanfiction

I'm just googling. :-)
I think what's most important is that you give yourself enough room to just write what you feel comfortable with. Try to find our own writing style and try to stay true to it. And I'd recommend to find a beta-reader who will hopefully fix typos and maybe even give style, character or continuity advice.
As for getting dragged through the mud... I have not once been flamed for my fanfic. I'm not sure that speaks to the quality of my writing or just the fact that my fics aren't hugely popular. But generally, the people in the Daredevil fandom I have encountered are super chill and supportive.
Just know that if your story ends up having a lot of typos or other errors, it's more likely to get more negative feedback. Hence the recommendation to find a beta reader. I believe we have a thread here somewhere where you can find one.
As for me, personally, I hate fics that aren't formatted correctly. If a story doesn't have row breaks and spaces between paragraphs, I will not read it. If it doesn't have upper case letters or punctuation (in the places where they belong), I will not read it. Not everyone is that picky, but I know I'm not the only one feeling that way.
To add to the above, notice that this person said "not read it" and not "flame the crap out of it".
Most people just won't read something that's not for them and you'll never know. You'll only hear from the people who read it and liked it. Anybody who does trash something is really stepping over a line.
SA - Yes, I definitely meant I won't read it, which includes "I won't leave negative comments on it, even if I may not have liked it". Flaming is super uncool, especially considering the author spent time and effort on sharing something they probably felt good about.
Now, there may have been moments where I read a fic and didn't like something about it, and considered leaving constructive criticism. But that's always kinda awkward. Not everyone appreciates that, even if it's phrased politely and well-intentioned.
Sadly, there's always the occasional troll or that person who doesn't know how to filter their frustration before they type it out and post it. Again, I can only stress that I haven't directly come across any of them in the Dd fandom, and I sure hope it stays that way.
Plus, I do hope you decide to write that fic. It sounds like it could be a great thing!
The thing about constructive criticism on the kinkmeme is that it's less than helpful, usually. The story is already out there. I just posted a piece less than half an hour ago and I've already spotted three things in it I would like to change. But I can't. (I did post a correction to the one that could be more confusing for the reader, but it's not like that helps all that much.)
I have occasionally sent corrective criticism to other authors on AO3, when I just can't help myself. It's like you're talking with someone who's immaculately dressed, everything just perfect--but his or her tag is showing. Other people may have more self control, but I just cannot stop myself from pointing out this tiny fixable flaw in an otherwise beautiful piece.
As an author? I love me any comments whatsoever (probably because I've never been trashed in the comments).

That's just my two cents...
