Re: Fic help?

SA - Yes, I definitely meant I won't read it, which includes "I won't leave negative comments on it, even if I may not have liked it". Flaming is super uncool, especially considering the author spent time and effort on sharing something they probably felt good about.

Now, there may have been moments where I read a fic and didn't like something about it, and considered leaving constructive criticism. But that's always kinda awkward. Not everyone appreciates that, even if it's phrased politely and well-intentioned.

Sadly, there's always the occasional troll or that person who doesn't know how to filter their frustration before they type it out and post it. Again, I can only stress that I haven't directly come across any of them in the Dd fandom, and I sure hope it stays that way.

Plus, I do hope you decide to write that fic. It sounds like it could be a great thing!

The thing about constructive criticism on the kinkmeme is that it's less than helpful, usually. The story is already out there. I just posted a piece less than half an hour ago and I've already spotted three things in it I would like to change. But I can't. (I did post a correction to the one that could be more confusing for the reader, but it's not like that helps all that much.)

I have occasionally sent corrective criticism to other authors on AO3, when I just can't help myself. It's like you're talking with someone who's immaculately dressed, everything just perfect--but his or her tag is showing. Other people may have more self control, but I just cannot stop myself from pointing out this tiny fixable flaw in an otherwise beautiful piece.

As an author? I love me any comments whatsoever (probably because I've never been trashed in the comments).
