He admmited it and Charlie said "He's not even joking".
I think that's just how he does his thing. He learns his lines and nothing else. It doesnt mean he is not invested in the character.
Jon said They all are professionals on the job meaning that it doesnt matter if you dont read what's coming up. If You go and you deliver, you are doing your job right.

But i think we are beign too hard on him. The girl also asked if they prepared the lawyering stuff and both Elden and Charlie said no. Charlie said there is not time to learn those stuff cause there are other things to do and that doesnt mean they pretend lawyers are shity.

So Elden not reading the scripts doesnt mean his Foggy is bad. Yeah it seems kinda unprofessional but he delivers and at the end that's what the production of the show wants. They want a person whio delivers what the character has to offer.

LBR, no actor needs to learn surgery if they're playing a doctor on tv, but learning your lines is expected whether you're doing it at the last minute or not. TBH if none of them had time to learn their lines then production would stop, and nobody's having that. Instead Elden made it sound like Charlie is carrying him a little, however he meant it, and I just have a problem with that kind of unprofessional bs. I like to think his coworkers adore him, but whether Elden is delivering a good Foggy depends on the fans and there's a big divide out there on that topic. I was really sorry to see fans on twitter being cringe-worthy asshats directly to both Deborah and Marvel yesterday and even though the lack of professionalism makes my eye twitch, I'm super glad Elden doesn't have a twitter today.

Well D eborah doesnt read her twitetr she said herself. Her social media acc are not ehrs to control maybe she sees them a little but mostly is her PR agent wo does the job.... Why there were people mad at her? because she said teh same things the other said. She said she didnt have any training cause she doesnt need any unlike Jon, The woman playing Electra and Matt himself.

Elden's case like i said he is not the only actor that does that but maybe it's one that it's not afraid to said it out loud and yeah it might seem unprofessional but if he delivers his lines as he's supposed to Then the production will be happy as the rest of the team. The real problem is with us fans cause we feel liek he doesnt care and that might not be teh case maybe he likes to play with thigs on the set and do stuff directly.

In the interview he knew it look bad for him saying that and he tried to play it cool just like Charlie did.

ayrt - Fandom kind of showed its ass when some MattFoggy fan asked Deb on twitter to please ask Charlie to kiss Elden on the mouth. Other fans asked Deb to please go away in S2 or that 'she' needs to step aside to allow for Matt and Claire to be a couple. People also tweeted to her and Marvel or anybody associated with the con to please ask Foggy to go away or disappear in S2. The usual fannish nuttiness, I guess, although it was a flood of stuff yesterday because of the con.

Yeah, poor Elden did look like he knew he kind of put his foot in his mouth with that answer and begged someone else to speak up 'please'. Charlie didn't really help, either, but at least he was laughing when he told Jon that Elden wasn't joking. It made me facepalm a little when Elden said Charlie helps him with scenes and Jon's reaction was kind of wtf. Actors say dumb things, they're people, but overall the con went well for the actors. Elden did a little better at the panel actually, and it was nice of him to thank the fans for coming out to the con so that's something.

SA: Yeah. Charlie and Elden after he knew he had srewed up they took things as a joke but the woman doing the interview was clearly displeased by the answer and she was displeased when they said they didnt practice any of the lawyering stuff they do on the show. We hear her saying how he does it and he says Charlie helps a lot. Maybe he just read those scripts he is in and not the rest of them but as a whole that answer for the fans it looks bad but for the others he is doing great as Foggy and it's an amazing actor.

And really why are opeople liek that. Saying that Deborah needs to go like Matt and Foggy are a thing in canon nor even Matt and Claire same as asking Elden go because they dont like the guy. I feel sorry for them really.

lol, I think you're putting your own feelings onto the interviewer. She sounded awkward to me, not displeased. It's her job to keep the interview flowing, not to have an opinion. It just sounded like he threw her for a loop and she didn't have a prepared reply to it.

(Although, to be fair, his reply WAS hella awkward.)

I say displeased but you are right it was more awkward than anything else. It looks like she had prepared more questions about that but how they answered they totally threw her off.

SA: Also i noticed that the whole cast has a patron on what they can say in interviews for example Jon being asked about Punisher says the same thing he said in the panel. Elden talks about Doughnouts and the rest talks about the changes in Hell's Kitchen than of the changes in the characters. I think the Marvel team behing DD set them to aswer like that and when someone asks something different sometimes they they feel awkward answering those kind of questions.

I totally saw it as part of the joke? I do it with my friends and co-workers all the time. We joke about us not doing shit and being truthful about it, which is bullshit, because we do our jobs, none of our clients lost because of us so we must be doing it. It's just a running joke at the firm. And I read this whole convo here as a similar joke? And sure, it turned awkward, but still a joke.

da - Elden jokes, yeah, I've watched some of his other interviews to catch his beat and attitude, so that's why this one actually seems like he was being honest and once he said it he looked hella sorry and was like okay someone else talk plllllease. Super awkward moment, didn't feel like a joke at all especially considering what Jon said that he didn't want to call the DD set 'fun' because everyone is very dedicated and professional but I also had the sense that Jon doesn't have any scenes with Elden yet? They kind of caught Elodie with a question, too, and when she started answering it she got freaked out because of Marvel's tiny red dot when the cast is spilling secrets. Seriously, how hard is it to work for Marvel anyway?

Nobody has mentioned later in the interview when Elden apparently cited a fun day when he just kept flubbing a line for a very long time. That speaks to them being very exact about their scripts or they would have been cool with one tiny line of improv. Nobody looked too thrilled about Elden laughing about it though because I guess it went on for a long time? More awkward feels there. I understand it's acting, actors will fu their lines, but I was surprised at Elden's comment and everybody else's haha no reactions.

idk idk Elden may be unprofessional but a totally loveable person, that's fine, I hate the idea that fandom is just going to make excuses for him. I have an officemate I can never depend on, she's such a slacker, and I can't actually trust her with anything with deadlines on it, but I really genuinely like her and am totally fine spending time with her out of the office. Maybe Elden is like that, who knows.

DA: I think everyone did laughed when he said that or at least those involve in the scene (Charlie and Deborah) . Charlie said it went for a long time and he coudnt say it maybe it was because they had to do it in certain way and he just couldnt but they were truthfull and when the interviewer asked if he get the line. He looked at them and said he believes he didnt get it and the rest just laughed. It happens to everyone. I dont think that makes him less of an actor.
