Hey! I've got a couple of fills im working on, mainly foggy centric or sci-fi/fantasy trope stuff. I'm generally a pretty slow writer. My main weaknesses are pacing and grammer. Confidence in my writing skill as well tbh. I'm looking for someone who can read though my stuff and evaluate/edit it and the occasional brainstorm/plotting help too.
I'm also happy to offer beta services! I'm really good at tone and plotting/inspiration stuff (sadness and weird AU's are my speciality). Also encouragement! I'll help with basically any fanfic that's not porn.
PM me at my twitter @runsonawhimsy if you're interested in being my beta or having me as a beta.
So, I decided to fill the prompt about flying. I'm trying to think of a good reason, other than something hand-wavey, as to why Matt and Foggy would be flying for business while they were still in their internship at Landman & Zack. I want it to be on the company's dime so I can give poor Matt and Foggy at least a business class experience for a first flight, haha.
Would it be weird to send two interns on company business somewhere that required at least short-haul flight to get there? I remember Wesley saying that the two of them turned down a "very lucrative offer" from Landman & Zack; would it be reasonable to assume the firm would try to woo them by giving them a taste of what working there would be like?
As somebody who also doesn't know anything about lawyer things (but who did watch at least a couple seasons of Suits) I have to say this sounds completely plausible to me. I vote go with it. ;b
I cut my teeth on comics, literally, so the short answer is yes, have read them long before they ever started showing up at the cinema and small screen. TBH, they're usually not that great, but the Netflix DD is probably the best amalgam representation I've ever seen of a character. So much love there.
You're... you're on your 11th watch-through? Why aren't you my best friend?! OMG. I'm on my third watch-through but only because I keep hitting pause and rewind, so each episode lasts like 4 hours...
SA, I forgot to mention that I was also troubled by the lack of ginger (and maybe the lack of height, because MM has always been a 6 foot ginger for me), but I have noticed that in the direct sunlight Charlie's hair does go decidedly auburn, which has soothed my irrational butthurt over that. :) No, seriously, after the first watch-through, Charlie IS and always has been Matt Murdock. Which impresses the hell right out of me.
Yes, I've seen that, and he's even accosted by a group of thugs who surround him and flick his hat off his head and call him 'little priest'. He was so meek. It looked like a gang rape was 10 seconds away from starting and then the police save him.
Guys, the writers have said that Foggy and Matt are supposed to be 29-30. Matt should be 30 because he was blinded when he was 9, then meets Stick a year later, and then Stick ditches him and he's 10 when he goes to the orphanage. When Stick comes back and he puts Matt in that hold and Matty breaks away, he says, 'Took you 20 years to figure out how to get out of that.' Maths, they work!
I feel like fandom just decided to piggyback onto the whole Captain America Age of Ultron 'LANGUAGE' thing and do the same for Matt. Which doesn't actually work, even though Matt and Steve are both good Catholic boys.
The worst of the stuff on here still falls short by several orders of magnitude. ;)
That's because SPN has been around for like 10 years and DD has been here for 2 months. I've been in both fandoms and if you want to compare them, for a baby fandom DD is astoundingly sadistic and brutal right out of the gate. I'm an old fandom hag, and I've never seen another fandom take to torturing their main character like this fandom, and then be so completely cheerful and supportive and high fives all around while plotting what next. Fandom, you are a glorious bastard, I love you all.
He's usually ginger in the comics, though some runs have him as either straight up blonde or sometimes a strawberry blond. Also some people are still writing for the comics canon (which is like 50 years old) so you might want to check whether the fic you're reading is for Daredevil comics or Daredevil TV show before judging.
I'm interested in making podfic. I've managed to work out how to record and what not, but I was wondering about the best ways to upload works to Ao3 or other places.
Where do you usually upload the files? What players are the nicest?
another idea (i may have just watched legally blonde for the first time so this is a little inspired by that) maybe matt and foggy were asked to assist with some big case interstate and they got to tag along to the trial?? it would make sense that they were picked (over the other interns) since it seemed like they were l and z's top interns.
i don't know much about lawyering either so i'm not sure how likely it would be but i guess you could call it creative license??
