not really related but also a question about how trends in fandom form;

Where did everyone develop this headcanon that Matt is against taking the lords name in vain when he does it in episode 1 (in front of a priest even).
like im genuinely curious

Maybe they see it as something he did in an emotional moment? So it's something that shows he's broken up about something?

I feel like fandom just decided to piggyback onto the whole Captain America Age of Ultron 'LANGUAGE' thing and do the same for Matt. Which doesn't actually work, even though Matt and Steve are both good Catholic boys.

Haha that LANGUAGE joke annoyed my brother and I so much. I was just like, Captain America's a G.I. from World War II he heard people swear on the front all the time and probably swears up a storm himself

I think thats why he's so embarrassed about it after. Like you can see him mentally rerunning that sentence in his head, and thinking "I can't believe I just said that"
