I have. And I am concerned by Matt's new black costume. As Peter Parker once put it, we all know what donning a black costume all of a sudden usually means. Incidentally, Peter said something akin to that the LAST time Matt had a black costume, and we ALL KNOW how that ended.

he said the whole production for both THG and DD were really nice to him. He had came to work on DD without any sleepbut they understood.
Like Is aid that was last year and some months ago Now the baby must be closer to one a half years and everything might be well but leading with depression is not easy for anyone.

He admmited it and Charlie said "He's not even joking".
I totally saw it as part of the joke? I do it with my friends and co-workers all the time. We joke about us not doing shit and being truthful about it, which is bullshit, because we do our jobs, none of our clients lost because of us so we must be doing it. It's just a running joke at the firm. And I read this whole convo here as a similar joke? And sure, it turned awkward, but still a joke.

This is why I don't like RPF. I like TV shows. I like the characters on TV shows. I don't care about the personal lives of the actors who play them, nor do I think I should, or do I think they would want me to. If they go in and do their job, I'm happy. Elden did a great job as Foggy. Nothing else really matters.

There are only a few cases where I really started disliking a character because I had too many bad associations with the actor. In the MCU it's only been Hawkeye, because Jeremy Renner is a misogynist asshole and he is not remotely apologetic about it despite being given multiple chances to save face. So I have a little trouble with Hawkeye and I'm not too sad that they're obviously setting up to write him out of the MCU. But it's still not a big deal.

The thing about these interviews is they're supposed to be ridiculously scripted. Like when you see an actor on a talk show, being interviewed by the host, that's the second time that interview has been done. It was done in rehearsal (sometimes with a person just in charge of reading off the questions so the guest is familiar with them because the host has other things to do). There are no surprises. So it's actually interesting when you get a panel that doesn't have a clear script, and the actors - whose primary jobs are to read dialogue they didn't write - have to improvise without spoilers. It's why fan questions are discouraged or not allowed. Actors don't like questions about their characters they can't answer, and a lot of them are squicked out by all of the weird sexual stuff fans seem to think is canon and okay to ask questions about. Like, "Do you think [these two characters who aren't written gay] will ever get together?" is the worst question ever. You can go on fandom wank pages and find out about all of the shit the actors from Supernatural have been put through at cons, with teenage girls crying because their fanfic dreams aren't going to come true.

These people are professionals. They're doing a job. Leave them alone.

That said I'm inviting the Daredevil cast to my wedding and I will disappointed if they don't show. And I'm not kidding. I'm doing it as soon as the hall is booked.

TBH I don't need or want to know Elden's reasons for making his life choices, that's none of my concern. What is my concern is whether he's giving me a good Foggy and whether he's meeting the fandom needs re: appearances at cons and all that usual stuff that actors do to support their shows. I like Foggy a lot but Elden, idek, I'm kinda meh and it is kinda affecting how I feel about the character. Sad but true, ymmv.

PS It's actually not ridiculously hard to just get your lines that day and read them. They do a ton of shots. I once watched a filming of a scene of Matt and Foggy talking down a street in Harlem, and they booked the site for the entire DAY, with breaks every 4 hours because of SAG regulations. They started at the Rite Aid, talked, then paused at the corner of a street and talked more, then stopped. I was only there for half an hour and I saw them do it at least 15 times. So yeah, they're not doing Hamlet on stage here. They have a bunch of lines and they do them over and over and over again until every single part of the shot is right.

I agree with this whole thing.

Like, I love Charlie but I just can't stand listening to him on panels because he stammers so much. If he knows ahead of time the things being asked, he's be much smother, but otherwise... yeah. ymmv, but I just can't listen to him speak lol.

So I mean, apparently Elden isn't that great with improvising smart answers to questions about his character that he's probably been told not to talk about. *shrugs*

Everyone else was just as awkward, imo. No big deal.

Yes. Exactly.

If you're not 100% with your lines to begin with, you sure as hell are by the time you're finished filming the scene.

da - Elden jokes, yeah, I've watched some of his other interviews to catch his beat and attitude, so that's why this one actually seems like he was being honest and once he said it he looked hella sorry and was like okay someone else talk plllllease. Super awkward moment, didn't feel like a joke at all especially considering what Jon said that he didn't want to call the DD set 'fun' because everyone is very dedicated and professional but I also had the sense that Jon doesn't have any scenes with Elden yet? They kind of caught Elodie with a question, too, and when she started answering it she got freaked out because of Marvel's tiny red dot when the cast is spilling secrets. Seriously, how hard is it to work for Marvel anyway?

Nobody has mentioned later in the interview when Elden apparently cited a fun day when he just kept flubbing a line for a very long time. That speaks to them being very exact about their scripts or they would have been cool with one tiny line of improv. Nobody looked too thrilled about Elden laughing about it though because I guess it went on for a long time? More awkward feels there. I understand it's acting, actors will fu their lines, but I was surprised at Elden's comment and everybody else's haha no reactions.

idk idk Elden may be unprofessional but a totally loveable person, that's fine, I hate the idea that fandom is just going to make excuses for him. I have an officemate I can never depend on, she's such a slacker, and I can't actually trust her with anything with deadlines on it, but I really genuinely like her and am totally fine spending time with her out of the office. Maybe Elden is like that, who knows.

Yeah, that whole thing was pretty awful and it felt like such a big set up. I know they wanted to blindfold Charlie because of the Daredevil thing, but the whole thing was fecking uncomfortable. Why trick any actor into drinking alcohol? Ugh.

Interviewer: "Can I ask you guys for some questions which would obviously be spoilers for season 2?"
Panel "No dude we work for Marvel! We can't answer any of these questions or we'll be fired. Do you even know what spoilers are?"

There's a reason actors on talk shows spend their allotted time talking about their kids or their recent vacations and stuff.

Our cast was looking GOOD you guys. I'm not ashamed to say Charlie actually got hotter. Seems impossible to me but whatever workout they've got him doing, he got smaller and even more fit but seemed to finally gain those last 5 lbs in his arms and butt. Unf. His face even looks different, what a beautiful man.

Deborah was so pretty in her blue dress and I didn't realise until today that her and Charlie wore matching blue. Think that was intentional? They still seemed very cagey about the Matt/Karen stuff in S2 although there's no doubt they make a really beautiful couple even if they act more like siblings. Also found out today that Deborah plays D&D and she's making character sheets for her castmates. She said Karen is a bard but hadn't decided what race (although Charlie teased her that she absolutely knew and had it written down somewhere lol). Charlie said they dubbed him (or Matt?) a half-elf paladin. Can you not see Charlie as a half-elf paladin? Someone write that fic stat! Anyway, Deborah comes across as a nerd and I appreciate her so much now.

Elden looked super happy and I lol when he introduced himself as THE Elden Henson. He made his castmates crack up too. He mentioned people come up to him in the streets all the time and ask him why he's mad at his best friend and tell him not to be mad (at Matt): He's a superhero, it's amazing! lololol

Elodie has the most gorgeous accent but she's so soft spoken it was hard to hear her on the panels. As much as I love listening to Charlie speak, I actually prefer his American accent (sacrilege, I know) because it's so sexy, but I'm assuming Elodie will be using an American accent also? I'm gonna miss her natural voice, unf.

Jon Bernthal was a total sweetheart. I died laughing when he said people warn him every day to not screw this up (playing Punisher) and he was so kind and respectful to the fans, saying he heard them, he understood it was a huge responsibility to portray Frank Castle and he would give it his all. I totally believe him. And him and Charlie cracking up together (the gifs are everywhere on tumblr) was one of the cutest things I've ever seen. It seemed Marvel tried to keep them apart for everything else, they were always separated by other actors, but for the Marvel Q&A (not the panel) they were standing together and commenting to each other about who knew what. The lady doing the interview said she felt the troublemakers were on the end (Jon and Charlie) and they did look like naughty schoolboys. Adorable. There's a mad call already for Frank/Matt based on this one moment. Fandom, you are hardcore but I am down with it, too.

Sorry if I'm prattling and excuse my enthusiasm, I just wanted to remind people that we got an awesome S2 teaser and a look at our beautiful cast. I'm super happy today because I didn't have any of this earlier this week and I am so excited and on fire for this fandom all over again now! \o/

Also nobody has mentioned the Jessica Jones panel or the first episode which, according to almost everyone, is even better constructed than Daredevil's first episode! One of my fave reviews said it was just as brilliant as DD, but different and darker, more psychological and more of a thriller. Too bad we won't see the series for Halloween because it sounds like it's going to be dark and creepy.

SA! OMG, forgot to mention that Deborah paid such kind lip service to Charlie (who was his usual blushy self): "... Charlie Cox here is my favorite actor I’ve ever worked with." And Steven DeKnight must have been watching because he quoted her on his twitter acct and said, 'I second that!' Aww! I don't know but I love when the actors or producers or writers are kind and supportive of each other like that. Steven will speak his mind even if it's an unpopular opinion, he's fearless, so a compliment coming from him seems extra special.

DA: I think everyone did laughed when he said that or at least those involve in the scene (Charlie and Deborah) . Charlie said it went for a long time and he coudnt say it maybe it was because they had to do it in certain way and he just couldnt but they were truthfull and when the interviewer asked if he get the line. He looked at them and said he believes he didnt get it and the rest just laughed. It happens to everyone. I dont think that makes him less of an actor.

Yes. They have a patron I comment on it earlier.
They are prepared to anwer this or that but when someone ask something that coughs them umprepared they kinda dont know what to do.
I noticed that Jon talking about the Punisher said the same things in three different interviews, same as when some ask for what they are doing for S2 and Elsen answers "eating doughnuts". Charlie always gets the more serious questions and Deborah is there to hint about the relationship that might or might not happen in s2.
Elden just told the truth when asked about what he did. If He doesnt read scripts well the he doesnt but that doesnt make his work less.
