Re: How much self control does Frank really have?

OP - YESSS, I think you're right that Frank is obviously lying to Karen, but he thinks he's being honest. He genuinely believes he's in full control of any given situation. Good call. And you're probably right that a lot of his confidence in himself, the inability to second guess himself, comes from his lack of navel gazing. That kid in the courtroom who yelled about his dead father sets Frank off, though, and we see Frank do the 'I'm not a monster, am I?' thing that we see Fisk do in s1. Hmm. He hasn't really been 'awake' long, though, right? So maybe he hasn't fucked up enough to really need to second guess himself yet.

The more I think about the interactions between DD and Punisher (and thank you for making me look at this a little differently) I'm kind of horrifically surprised that Matt has 1) a LOT of fucking patience for people verbally shitting on him, and 2) way too much forgiveness for any one person. I ADORE FRANK and I think he's a freaking fabulous character, but Matt forgave Frank like right away for shooting him in the head, kidnapping him, beating him, trying to manipulate him into being a killer, throwing him to the biker gang, and after all that Matt is still going to rescue Frank at least twice, maybe three times total, and also want to represent him in court? Not that he did, but he wanted to, and I'm just, ughhhh. This whole time I was thinking Frank was going out of his way by risking his freedom and new anonymity by going to help DD on the rooftop against the Hand, and there was noooo reason for Frank to really do that. Except there is, because Matt's been really... good to Frank. In spite of everything Frank has done to Matt. Frank really does change his mind about Matt so much by the time he pushes him off that boat, omg. I've watched the season 3 times and I've been missing that this whole time and I don't know how. Damn. Thanks, anon, I appreciate your words. I feel like things are finally making sense now.
