(Anonymous) 2016-03-21 02:27 pm (UTC)(link)That scene gave me LIFE, anon, you have no idea! Matt/Fisk/(Vanessa) is one of my guilty-pleasure badwrong ships, which I thought had essentially sunk by the end of last season, so I was happy when they showed Fisk in prison, and then E L A T E D when I realized that Matthew Michael Murdock was stupid enough to want to poke that hornet's nest himself. *happy flailing*
ermagerd, also, I keep staring at Matt's hand during the part where he tries to claw at Fisk's face. Not the hand that goes after his face, but the one that's fisted in the material of his jumpsuit at the collar. It's such a helpless action and I just.... I am trashy with trashy needs. >D

(Anonymous) 2016-03-21 05:38 pm (UTC)(link)(I mean, just imagine. Fisk is so large, Matt can't move, tells himself over and over it's for Foggy, all for Foggy. Then when he tries to calm down and breathe through the pain Fisk's large hand presses down on his throat, pinning him and cutting his air supply at the same time. Matt goes pink, gasps, writhes, quickly losing strength, but the more he struggles the harder Fisk gets.)

(Anonymous) 2016-03-21 06:21 pm (UTC)(link)ffffff I need 10 billion fics of this trash pairing, stat. Was SO not expecting to have more fodder for my trash ship this season, but there it was in all it's glory.
I'll uh.... I'll just leave this here:

(Anonymous) 2016-03-26 10:21 pm (UTC)(link)The part where he shoves Fisk's lawyer's arm away from him at the end is so great??? Like??? Matt nearly falls down and you hear the lawyer saying "Okay..." in the background and moving forward to help him, and Matt's like "Thanks for nothing, asshole."

(Anonymous) 2016-03-27 05:58 am (UTC)(link)The vulnerability, holy mother of god, when he loses his senses? This fucking show, what have you done.

(Anonymous) 2016-03-26 06:02 pm (UTC)(link)And he never does. He never fucking does, never entirely. Tony Stark can lose it, Frank Castle can lose it, but they look back and this stupid choirboy will always be there ranting to them about morality. It's soothing, ya know? Goodness never changes. No matter how broken he is, some small part of Matt Murdock will always remain innocent, even naive in its belief in what's right. Other people can go dark once in a while because Matt will be good on their behalf.
So, take all of that, apply it to MCU!Matt, times 100000. He's even smaller, even more vulnerable, even more pig-headed, even more isolated. He's played by Charlie Cox, with all the very lovely physical features and emotional ticks you listed above. Is it any wonder I'm so entirely gone? I'm so sorry this turned into a rant nonnie, I just have a ton of feelings about Matt, and the helplessness suggested by his blind eyes is just the cherry on top of... every other thing that should make him helpless, but doesn't.

(Anonymous) 2016-03-27 05:54 am (UTC)(link)If Frank is a Terminator, then Matt is a Determinator. Determined to not quit, to try again. And I do love that our Matt being even smaller, even more vulnerable than comics!Matt means that he has to work that much harder every night when he goes out as DD, that there's a higher chance that things will not end well. But he could be 5' and 100 lbs and it wouldn't matter, he'd still be out there putting his stubborn ass on the line trying to defend people, answering the call when someone needs help. I LOVE that about him.
My fave defining line about Matt is actually something Frank Castle said in Confederacy of Dunces. He's comparing his opponents Daredevil, Spider-Man, and Wolverine and ticking mental boxes about who he needs to deal with in what way and when, and he looks at Matt and says, Daredevil. Least formidable, most dangerous.
(♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥) That line has since defined how I see Matt Murdock in the world of superheroes. I'm sure I'm not the only one.
That he's pretty and constantly imperiled in the MCU and this season he's so willingly subby and he never looks so good as when he's roughed up and bleeding or legit terrified (I AM STILL GOING TO HELL, IN FOR A PENNY AND ALL THAT) and then we get that whole first half of this season with him bumping into Frank Castle, and most of an episode as Frank's prisoner? JFC. Come sit next to me, nonnie, we'll be gone on Matt Murdock together. ♥

(Anonymous) 2016-03-29 05:04 am (UTC)(link)I'd kill for a drink with you, nonnie! All my friends are into DC rn, so I only have meme for my DD-fangirling needs :((((
That line is my favorite <3, plus every time Frank calls him choirboy/altar boy. He just sounds so exaggerated and fond at the same time, like "Look at Suzie misplacing my toothbrush again, but we're married so what can you do?" The recent Superior Ironman has also been good to me, with villain!Tony basically going "Oh my god how can anyone turn virtue into such a pain in the ass?!" and then brainwashing Matt because there's no convincing him to step out of the way. Not even Kilgrave can mindcontrol him. Wherever Battlin' Jack is, he must be so damn proud.
Season 2 has ticked every box in my id-wishlist, except may be Matt defending Frank in court but oh well, can't have everything. Helplessly dommed by a dangerous woman with superior rope skills? Check. Helplessly chained up by a dangerous man with phallic weapons? Check. Helplessly pinned by another dangerous man superior in both size and strength? Check. Helpless against his own hearing loss, helpless to keep his friends by his side, helpless to save the woman he love. Matt is just begging for an anchor this season, I feel him deeply but I also revel in every minute of his pain.
TO THE HELLATRASH ESPRESS WE GO!!!

(Anonymous) 2016-03-31 06:36 am (UTC)(link)AH MY GOD you've read Superior Iron-Man too! *twirls you* The whole arc with Tony and Matt fed all my kinky needs tbh. DD figuring out what Tony is up to and walking straight up to Tony's goatee-of-evil face and confronting him directly about it, which is sure to turn out so well. Right, Matt? RIGHT, MATT? Excuse me while I reminisce hard...
Tony practically drowning Matt on their first chat which only makes Matt try harder to get through to Tony. Tony trying to seduce and extort Matt's high-handed moralistic virtue away from him by knocking Matt out and forcing eyesight on him, (w/o any of Matt's consent, wtf TONY, you don't just knock someone out and do mad scientist shit to them, and if you do you could at least not watch them sleep for hours and then expect them to say thank you for doing mad scientist shit to them when they wake up, you goddamned creeper) Matt can keep his eyesight IF he's willing to essentially give in to Tony's demands and be a good boy? And Matt's bitchy little HDU made me lol and Tony gets so angry. (But how sweet was it that Matt runs to see Foggy while his eyes were actually working, even if it was only for a minute? But he never even tells Foggy that he can see him for one second because Foggy was already worried about him and how much worse would Foggy be worried if Matt actually told him what had happened/was happening? Jesus, Matt, why do you always let everybody think the worst of you?)
Matt confronting Tony again, because it worked so well the first time, Matt getting smacked out of the entire tower into freefall, Tony's kinky new tentacle suit grabbing Matt mid-fall, rescuing him but then wrapping around him and keeping him captive, refusing to let Matt go even when Matt demands it, muffling Matt's mouth when he won't stop being bitchy and angry at Tony, the suit levitating off the ground so Matt can only struggle helplessly, while Tony gloats nearby that Matt is helpless? (Actually, kinda reminds me of Frank this season reminding Matt that he can struggle all night but he's not going anywhere and is at Frank's mercy.) Holy shit, there was some serious moustache twirling in SIM. But Tony doing awful things to Matt and then operating on him AGAIN without his consent and mind-wiping Matt so he wouldn't remember any of it? HOLY FUCK, TONY, WHAT HAVE YOU DONE? And afaik it's never been resolved and has remained Marvel canon. Marvel canon is way worse than anything that's happened to Matt in the MCU, way worse. And we wonder why Matt has trust issues.
-- Matt is just begging for an anchor this season
YEAH that's what I'm saying! He was dommed by everyone this season in one way or another, even Foggy. This show has given me so much fodder for all my kinks, I don't even know where to start actually enjoying it, I'm still so overwhelmed with what they've given us! Now I'm not sure if the comics or the MCU is kinkier for Matt Murdock.
