So Wesley Fisk instead of Richard Fisk? I'm only okay with this if it's AU from comic canon.

Actually, no. I thought about it a bit, and a really depressing, angsty fill would be great. Being named after his father's best friend would be just another brick in the wall...

OP here, that was what I was thinking. Wesley instead of Richard, because I know, I know, comic canon and stuff, but if they can change the names of Clint and Laura Barton's kids, we can change poor Dick's name into something more befitting current times.

I didn't mean that someone else couldn't write it. What I meant was that I was only okay with writing it myself if I could change comic canon. I'm sorry that I didn't communicate that well. I was pretty tired when I wrote that.

Wouldn't James make more sense? Although Wesley can be used a first name, too...or a middle name...

NA, but lol, I keep forgetting that Wesley is his last name. I've passed by this prompt so many times without this occurring to me.

OP here, I was thinking about 'James Wesley' as first and middle name, but I kept having flashbacks to that kink meme fill/discussion? that included Fisk getting all bewildered and asking "who the hell is James?" because he's only referred to Wesley as 'James' once and it was during his talk with his mother after Wesley was already dead. So.

I know Wesley is the guy's surname, but that's the name Fisk called him by and I think it carries more meaning to him than generic 'James', and just WHY THE HELL NOT.
