Oh my god. I need this from Fisk's POV.

And to expand on that, how does he get used to Matt as a cell mate? I can't imagine he really understands what Matt goes through as a blind man- even with his senses it can't be easy, especially when everyone is out to get him. So what were Fisk's expectations of Matt before he arrived? Did he just assume Matt was faking being blind? Or did he think Matt had superpowers?

(THIS REALLY DOES NEED TO BE A SERIES, hahaha)

For serious though, it'd be terrible for Matt. I don't know if you read the sequels (http://archiveofourown.org/works/4238619 and http://archiveofourown.org/works/4235655/), but the prison staff and prisoners don't really give a damn about a disabled inmate. Especially one that they don't perceive as being actually disabled because of all the crazy ninja shit he did.

Like, I think another anon mentioned something along this line but, Matt would probably be ready to go out of his mind after the first week. Trapped in that place with people who want to kill him; constantly disoriented in an unfamiliar place with unfamiliar noises with zero access to accessibility things like his cane or signs with braille; getting raped every night by his worst-enemy-turned-cellmate; limited options to work details because of his blindness; no access to commissary for a while; no privacy; nothing to do except brood.

Like, I'm picturing Fisk calmly reading a book or magazine or something and looking over and Matt is just kind of sitting on his bed with his head resting against the wall just kind of, well, he's always staring at nothing but it's like his mind isn't there. Because what else is there to do? The guy running the "library" laughed in Matt's face when he enquired about braille books.

Maybe Fisk would start trying to engage him in conversation or even reading out loud from whatever it is he's reading? And Matt would be like WHAT NO STOP TALKING TO ME but also like: yaaasss I can feel my brain rotting halp

Lol I actually wrote the second one. I've been thinking about doing one from Fisk's POV but I'll wait until the first author anon does theirs though.

Like, I know it's just a fic and barebacking is a kink all on it's own, but I was just thinking that Matt is never going to a) have a really raw ass all the time from being fucked with no lubricant, and b) never have any toilet paper for it's intended use because he's constantly getting covered in cum. XD;;

Most prisons don't allow them but there are a few jails to have started allowing access, because telling inmates not to fuck each other is about as successful as abstinence only sex ed. I guess you could make a case for Matt trying to bargain with Fisk to use them from now on, since he has no other options. I mean really all he'd have to say is "you have no idea where I've been or how many people have bled on me".

I wouldn't put it past Fisk to just decide to fuck him in the showers instead, if he's going to be so particular about the cleanup.

Oh god Fisk notices that Matt has avoided showering all week and takes him there himself, tells everyone to fuck off, and makes Matt wash. Then he fucks him, because he took all that time to help Matt, he deserves something in return, right?

Oh no, someone needs to make this happen.

And like, there wouldn't even necessarily need to be any fucking, per se. What if Fisk washes Matt??? Like, Matt is obvs too stupid to take care of himself so if he's not going to do it Fisk is going to do it for him, and then Matt is humiliated and and never avoids the showers again.

(But like, of course Fisk gropes him while washing him and jerks Matt off too).

It's different levels of humiliation; I don't know which would be worse....

I think the threat of Fisk doing it himself would be enough to scare the hell out of Matt.

Like, Fisk gets so fed up with what he perceives as Matt being.... I dunno, weak? Would he think Matt's purposefully not washing just to piss him off? Or maybe he catches him trying to "sponge bath" at the little sink in their cell and he figures Matt's scared to be seen naked around the other inmates? (Does he catch on to how frightening such a place would be for a blind person? *ponders*)

Anyway. So he drags Matt by the arm down to the showers and kicks everyone out. And then he pushes Matt under a shower head orders him to strip. And Matt's like: You're just going to stand there and watch?! No!

And Fisk is like, 1000% DONE, Matthew, and gives him 10 seconds to strip and to start washing before Fisk does it for him.

And Matt's like no, nope, that's totally not necessary, and Matt washes himself as quick as he can because Fisk is just standing there watching him while he does it. And the water pressure is next to non-existant and it's so cold, and he didn't think it was possible to feel so humiliated, but oh it is.

(But on the other hand I also love the mental image of Fisk running soapy hands all over Matt's body and giving him a hand job in the showers too..... hahaha)

Yeah.... yeah, like:

"I know that no one believes me, but I am actually blind, okay? I can't. fucking. see. Would you choose to walk in there with a blindfold on?"

Blah blah... you can fight, blah, ninja, blah blah

"Okay. Look. Yes, my brain chemistry was altered from the accident and all my other sense became enhanced to make up for the lack of sight, but I'm still fucking blind. My eyes don't work. And the information I get from my remaining senses is only as good as my ability to analyze it. It's like a puzzle. Sounds, and smells, and touch, and heat, and air pressure are all pieces to that puzzle. So I need to... I can't just walk into a new place and immediately know where everything is at, alright? It's loud and echoey in there; I can't tell where the sounds are coming from. And everything smells like industrial cleaning fluid. So I'd need to be able to orient myself by touch, but I can't do that in there because it puts an 'easy prey' target on my back. Your protection extends only as far as the first guy who decides to take advantage of me being disoriented."

Such as: Would Fisk even allow Matt to make friends with the other inmates? I'm sure there are SOME men in there who aren't creepy rapist-types who have a personal vendetta against Daredevil (Mac was just one guy), but Fisk seems very... possessive?

People are avoiding Matt right now because they don't want to get on Fisk's bad side for damaging his property, but what if they all just decide to not bother with Matt at all? He'd be so much more isolated than he already is and with only Fisk to have any kind of interaction with.....

Wow. My mind just went to a very grim-dark place. :-|

oops he's got somebody that he's stockholm syndromed into "loving" him, kind of (what else do you call it when your sworn enemy willingly spoons with you now???), and all of a sudden he's starting to think about him as a person ffs, this was NOT in the plan! but at that point and they've been living together & fucking for about 6 months to a year. and i wonder what point he'd start comparing this "relationship" with matt to the one with vanessa >D

What if Vanessa comes to visit Matt? He didn't even put her on his visitor list but Fisk pulled some strings. What if Vanessa is as creepily possessive of Matt as Fisk is?

And consider this: Rikers has high turnover because it's only used for short term housing of inmates. What if some new guys are transferred in and don't know the rules about Matt and decide to beat the shit out of him? Matt would probably be able to hold his own, but that doesn't mean Fisk won't be pissed off that someone fucked this his property.

Yep, I can totally see it. According to 2nd Fill, Vanessa is apparently A-Okay with what Fisk did to Matt. Still, it would be weird right? Visiting the guy who's getting more sex and one-on-one talk time with her husband than she does. How long can Fisk and Vanessa fool themselves that it's not cheating?

And oooh, yes, I like the way your brain works, anon! I think even without the factor of Fisk's protection, Matt would have eventually found a way to remind anybody in there looking to fuck with him that he was the Devil of Hell's Kitchen; he's fought groups of men and been stabbed and shot at and still come out on top. So it might earn him some time in solitary, but I think all it would take would be some guys to get their arm or legs broken by Matt a couple times to drive home that he's not someone you want to bother.

(But as you say, there's always new guys and it's a lesson that he and Fisk would probably have to keep on teaching)

Matt held his own well enough in the arc where he's sent to prison in the comics. He was in solitary at first before they threw him in with the rest of the inmates. He put on a mask and beat the shit out of Leland Owlsley, lol.

But I think Matt would probably jump right to violence at first to protect himself because he know he'll get throw in solitary for it. And then he realizes how much worse solitary really is.

Well show matt is not nearly as good at fighting as comics matt is yet. He struggles with groups of four or five normal guys, and if his opponent has skill/experience he's guaranteed to take a hit or five even one-on-one, i don't think he'd be nearly as untouchable as cell block d!matt was

Yeah it's really not fair to compare comics!Matt to show!Matt (who has become prison-bitch!Matt in this fanfic, lol). Like, the only commonality is the location.

I feel like show!Matt relies a lot on the element of surprise and playing his enemies fear against them. He'd be a hell of a lot less intimidating dressed in an orange jumpsuit trying to fight a large group of guys who are as big, if not bigger than he is.

Yeah... Hm. Fisk would watch him like a hawk to try and catch him out, probably at first.

I mean, I don't know if they'd be able to keep some personal items in their cell (and I'd imagine they're required to keep things pretty tidy anyway), but Matt would need to leave things in a certain order/location and in exactly the same spot. (Random room inspections would probably be a piss off for him, because he'd have to ~show weakness~ or whatever self-depricating thing he'd think, by groping around afterward for his stuff).

He'd notice how Matt would pick up or put things down without looking towards where he's reaching (like he did when he reached in his fridge for beer on the show). He'd probably be intrigued by how Matt goes about shaving his face or combing his hair. How Matt walks with his arm out to the side and slightly in front of himself, in case there's something in his path. How he counts his steps under his breath sometimes. How his eyes never track movement. He'd also probably catch on pretty quick to how Matt simply does not notice non-verbal cues, like facial expressions or nodding/shrugging/hand gestures.

And then he'd notice how Matt tunes in to the littlest sounds and how much he hates loud noises, especially the buzzers. How some days he just refuses to eat (maybe it corresponds to a day a certain worker with filthy kitchen hygiene practices is on duty in the cafeteria). How he tries to put off switching out his bed sheets and jumpsuit for as long as he can because he scratches at himself like crazy for the first day after getting new ones. All the exercises he does. How he becomes less accident prone and skittish the longer he's there, how he relies on the walls to guide him less-and-less until he's walking around like any sighted inmate. How he always seems to know when people are bullshitting him.
