yes yes yes. as much as i get matt admonishing people for doing that, he does the same thing in episode one:

MATT: Jesus, he could take a punch--
FATHER LANTOM: Language--
MATT: Sorry.

i feel like matt in most instances is a pretty good catholic boy but when he's surprised, hurt, angry, or other things (eye emoji x100) his filter definitely shuts off.

Man, I can't even see him admonishing people for it and it kind of baffles me when people have him doing that in fic. Matt does not strike me as the kind of person who would nag other people into practicing a facet of his religion, especially if they aren't Catholic themselves.

true. i feel like maybe if they were in a church (but that's something else because's it's respect in a house of worship) but yeah, also in the comics matt uses "oh my god" pretty frequently, lmao.

I totally agree! I admit it's half why I prompted this. He's always telling people off for this in fic, but we literally see him do it himself in the show.

Also he clearly hasn't been to confession in 'too long' - he's not exactly steadfast in his practice, it seems.
