- General
- YKINMKATO. Play nice. If you don't like something, scroll on.

- Discussion not related to the prompt should be moved to the discussion/off-topic post.

- Prompts

- Use the subject line for the main idea of your prompt (pairing or characters, keywords, kink).
- Warnings are nice, but not necessary. Get DW Blocker if there's anything you really don't want to see.

- Announce your fill on either the Completed Fills Post or the WIP Post.
If you would like to be politely banned to avoid anon-failing, leave a logged-in comment on the mod post or pm the mod account.
Re: that's not my name 2/5
(Anonymous) 2015-06-27 03:44 pm (UTC)(link)Pepper starts with "Tony, did you know you're stalking a lawyer from Hell's Kitchen?" because it's always a mistake to assume things, with Tony.
And he proves her point, because he stares at her with the confused and guilty expression that means he's recognized that she wants to talk to him about a problem but can't remember what he's done. "I'm...who? Who am I stalking?" he asks.
Pepper does not say oh tony, because that has, historically, proven less than useful. "Matthew Murdock," she says, calmly.
"Oh him," Tony says, and leers at her, cheerfully. "Did you see the ass on that guy? I don't think he's human, I remember my thirties, y'know, I didn't look like that - did you meet him? Does he like the tablet? I think it's all right for first-gen shit but I want to figure out a way to protect the screen from drops and spills, y'know, people are animals -"
She kisses him, because he looks tired and worn and jittery, and because she wants to.
"Hey," he says.
"Little much," she tells him, honestly.
"Pepper," Tony says, focused at least 50% on her and their conversation, as opposed to the 30% a minute ago: "FRIDAY analyzed all the video we had on that guy. He's going to be dead in a couple of years, this rate."
"You can't keep everyone alive," she says.
"Ye of little faith," Tony says. His mouth is smiling, but his eyes are serious, and thoughtful, and - Pepper buries her face in his shoulder. "I'll back off, though," he says, stroking her hair.
"Thank you," she says.

(Anonymous) 2015-06-27 04:00 pm (UTC)(link)I love Tony. (And Pepper.) Honestly, part of why I refuse to watch Age of Ultron (besides all the horrible reviews and my husband's disrecommendation) is that they jump backwards in Tony's characterization to get to Ultron from Iron Man 3. Come on, guys, part of what I liked about the movies was that characters were allowed to grow more than they are in a monthly comic! What's with the about-face?
Whoa, you didn't really need to hear that. What you needed to hear was, I'm sorry this is a deleted scene, because it's just pitch perfect, and making Tony sympathetic (more than just "haven't bribed the guy enough to like me yet" that we got earlier, which was also heartbreakingly awesome) helps round out the overbearing jerk we see from Matt's point of view.

SEE, you said that about the scene, and then i was just sort of noodling (should i shove it in there? do i want a 3,000 word FIRST chapter? that is RIDICULOUS?) and then i realized: aw, DUH, matt might say he dislikes tony stark because of the money/wealth/privilege/lack of boundaries, sure, and that's a little bit of the problem.
but the bone-deep reason matt doesn't like stark is tony stark recognizes flashy self-destructive behavior like the back of his hand.
