OH! yes, because: these people have seen him vulnerable, and that was probably the worst mistake of his life, to get so vulnerable in front of them - they must've been laughing.

He's angry at them but he's also furious at himself for allowing himself to be in this situation in the first place.

But it's also a ~~little bit like~~ a LOT like heartbreak which. Surprise, Matt. Turns out you've got this tendency to latch onto people who show you the least bit of kindness because you're a lonely mess of a person.
