OKAY....

SPOILERS..... JUST NOW.....

Okay so basic background; shits goind down so badly that Matt decides making a deal with Fisk (who turns out to be alive) is a good idea.

its not a good idea.

The main thing that everyone is freaking out about is that Fisk had Kristen and Foggy kidnapped and messed up so that he could have leverage against them.
Matt's been assuming he could negotiate with Fisk and also that Fisk wanted daredevil to work for him.

Fisk just wants him to die.

He sets Ikari on him and tells him that if he wins the fight, either Foggy or Kristen will die (because he only needs one hostage). Matt knows that even if he dies they won't truly be safe and is desperate to figure out a third option.
Enter the shroud who fucks things up and kills Ikari. Cue Matt's utterly heartbreaking reaction, stating that the Kingpin never bluffs and one of his friends is now dead.

DRAMATIC CLIFFHANGER WHILE WE ALL SOB AND THINK ABOUT THE WHOLE MONTH WE HAVE TO WAIT TO FIGURE OUT WHAT HAPPENS

We'll, there is no fucking way they would ever get away with killing Foggy, right? RIGHT? So I'm working on the assumption that Kingpin was bluffing and they're both ok, or Kirsten's dead, which would be sad but kind of par for the course for any woman who Matt falls for. (Poor guy)

Ah crap, this is why I both live and hate comics in equal measure!

Yeah like... comics has a long history of fridging women so i wouldn't be surprised if that happened.
Except this is Mark Waid and he's like... i can't see HIM doing that.

And Fisk specifically mentioned that Foggy was worse for wear from the whole kidnapping thing and that he had to stabalise him and im like... please.... dear god...
don't be foreshadowing.

im personally happy to live in the fantasy land where they are both okay forever and ever and the Matt rescues them and everyone kisses the end.

I read an interview with someone involved in the next run, chock full o' spoilers, and one said Foggy Nelson will still be part of his life, or words to that effect anyway. Thus a bit vague though, so I'm don't knew exactly what it means...

Oh man the foreshadowing...

What at least for me makes it worse is that from Fisk's point of view it makes a lot more sense to kill foggy and hold Kirsten hostage. Like... Foggy's already been pointed out to be in a sketchy position health-wise (and potentiality terminally ill if that hint from last issue is to be believed), so for Fisk it would make more sense to have a healthy hostage than one who any day now could get worse.

And all this little ramble means is WAID AND SAMNEE PLEASE DON'T HURT EITHER FOGGY OR KIRSTEN FOR THE LOVE OF GOD

see, that's the LOGICAL route but as matt's already got a bad track record when it comes to dead vs alive girlfriends and foggy dying would almost certainly plunge matt into a depression the likes of which we have never seen so i'm unfortunately resigned to kirsten being in worse trouble than foggy.

(not to say kirsten is worth less in comparison to foggy, it's just. matt's not great at keeping girlfriends even if they don't die and foggy is his Best Friend so Yikes)
