Technically it is "sex work" but many prostitutes don't care for the term "sex worker." Also, officially, it is "solicitation" (in terms of what will appear as the charge if they are arrested.

Also strippers at not sex workers/prostitutes unless they have two jobs, and they will get super mad if you call them sex workers if they are not also prostitutes.
