So I know that the Emmy nomination system is totally broken and the whole thing means practically nothing, but...How was Daredevil not nominated for Stunt Coordination? Like, how??? Was the hallway scene NOT as groundbreaking and stunning as everybody said it was? HOW??????
Yes. I have been frothing at the mouth about this for days. But at the end of the day this show is considered genre, and although it's very far apart from the usual comic book films and series, it's still genre television, and the system doesn't fancy it much. The show did pick up 3 noms, which is nice, but it seriously could have used more. It shattered the way mainstream viewers think of comic book adaptations, and made a worldwide name out of Daredevil overnight. And that's just... weird and amazing. To suddenly see people in France and Japan hardcore flying their hornhead flags is just crazypants. And that is a really nice consolation prize for lack of awards.
i know emmy noms aren't like the end-all be-all of good television but SERIOUSLY, i cannot get over how the fucking newsroom got nominated over daredevil. seriously? does anyone under forty even watch the newsroom these days?
(no shade to any anons over forty here, btw. i just never considered the newsroom that popular a show because i never see any love for it on tumblr/twitter and some of the monologues i've seen in previews are unbearably pretentious. does anyone even really talk like that?)
