I started running a daredevil one a little while ago which fell by the wayside after a few days lol (hopefully I'll get back to it if/when I get a laptop that doesn't crash every two mins). I've helped run a couple for other fandoms too and I've never heard of any authors complaining about them. I wouldn't say it's necessary to ask for permission - some people like to let the author know that they've made a rec afterwards, because it's generally a compliment?

ah okay!! yeah i think i'll adopt the practice of letting the author know that it's been recommended.
