Re: Foggy and Matt on the show

HAHA omg you're so right. I'm sure there have been lovers like Elektra, for example, but how many of Matt's 'girlfriends' are just lies to cover up his nightly activities? Matt hasn't really been out daredeviling long, the Foggy and Matt scene in Josie's where 'marriage' is discussed is right after Matt takes out that very first guy who was raping his own daughter. Matt still has the same cut on his lip, but he's been very active since Claire tells him the man in the black mask is making a difference in Hell's Kitchen already. And the night Foggy is taking Karen out to Josie's he's calling Matt on the phone and he tells him to 'climb off whoever you're on and get down here.' Bwaahaa!

First of all, why would Foggy even assume Matt's going to just up and ditch some one-night stand if he's getting lucky, unless Matt really would do that? Or is Matt being a sexual rain man all in Foggy's head? He really does have a seriously high opinion of Matt, and I love that Foggy's always trying to cheer Matt up in some way or validate him when he thinks Matt is down. He tells him Matt's father would be proud of him, he tells him 'her loss' when Matt says it didn't work out, Foggy is a good guy. But he also admits that he felt sorry for Matt, and Foggy having such a high opinion of Matt seems to kind of contradict Foggy feeling sorry for him, doesn't it? Hmm, oh I like this, it's like a mystery lol.

AYART:

haha yeah, I have my own thoughts about Foggy and Matt's relationship in light of the "I can't believe I feel sorry for you" comment. It definitely was a low blow, but at the same time understandable. It's easy to see why someone would feel sorry for Matt though, even though he's very insistent on his independence and doesn't ever ask for pity. He walks around with bruises all of the time and makes up excuses for them instead of complaining.

My speculation is that part of the reason Foggy likes Matt so much is because Matt makes him feel needed- both on a physical level (I'm blind, I might need you to lead me around) and an emotional level (because Matt has so, so many emotional issues). Not to mention that Matt makes him his business partner. So Foggy has a high opinion of Matt, but also sees him as someone who is vulnerable and needs his support. Learning that Matt is a kick ass vigilante may have hurt him on that level as well. So far, Matt hasn't needed Foggy in this aspect of his life.
