I think it's a good thing! I'm impatient when it comes to waiting for updates but I started writing specifically for this fandom and now I'm like holy hell how do people write so fast???
My issue is with the beta reading. Cause I don't really like putting up stories that aren't beta'ed, especially if they're over 1,000 words long. Cause, you know, I'm not a native speaker, and my English has a definite UK influence (my best friend emigrated there and I visit often).
But writing for the kinkmeme... a) I don't have a beta reader whom I can send a new story every week and expect her to read them within a day or two, and b) I don't want the OPs to have to wait weeks for their prompts to be filled.
So now I just post them and pray I don't mess up too much, or use weird expressions that don't sound genuine.
My luck currently is that things at work are slow, which is unusual and will likely change in the next few weeks. But for the time being, I'm not complaining and clandestinely try to work on some of my stories when I'm really supposed to be answering e-mails, reviewing documents, or calculating budgets grids. Sometimes life as a geek has definite perks, because I'm sure other people in the same situation would be bored as fuck when they don't really have all that much to do in the eight hours they have to spend in the office. :-D
You shoukd check out the Beta thread here! It's linked at the top of this board.
Although I'm also a very fast beta of you need it and could probably turn it around in a day or two for you, since I am literally spending every day now either checking my bookmarks here and conversing, writing or just lurking.
I am enthusiasm girl on Tumblr or AO3. Feel free to reach out if you're interested.
