In the comics they're always called his billy clubs as his first was a legit billy club from a police officer (DD likes them because they're blunt and doesn't want to kill people). He's since customised them with a projectile end and line of airplane wire inside that he uses to climb or swing from tall areas. They also fit together and become a little more like a bo staff.

There's always some confusion with Nightwing's escrima sticks which are similar in looks but different in usage.

... So I just looked up escrima sticks and to me they look like what Matt uses in the show. *confused*

A billy club looks like a miniature baseball bat to me.

Yeah, what he uses in the show are pretty different from his weapons in the comics.

I'm pretty sure TV!Matt uses escrima sticks.

Wait, for your story are you talking about the wooden sticks he uses as the man in black or the actual DD clubs he upgrades to when he starts wearing the devilsuit? Because there's a difference, yes.
