I've just started reading the end of days comics and it's just making me even more angry/sad that they killed off Ben in the show? Like why??? He's such a good character and his relationships with the other characters would have been awesome???????? W h y
(Also I wish there was more fic about him out there ugh)
I feel like Ben's death made narrative sense, but at the same time it was like they took the easy way out and didn't bother to think of some way he could have been saved.
Yeah exactly, I mean it DID make sense but it absolutely didn't have to happen imo? It just seems such a shame to lose such a good character so early on in the show :(
I am wondering if they would have made a different decision had they known when they wrote the show that they were getting rights to Spider-Man back in the MCU.
Because guys... GUYS... how unbelievable would it have been if Ben had started off in Daredevil and then appeared in the Spider-Man movie. Think about it. What a waste.
I love Ben Urich so much in the comics (he is the best), and from the moment he appeared onscreen on the show I was absolutely bowled over by Vondie Curtis-Hall's portrayal because it was so, so true to the comic book version, and so his death was disappointing and shocking to me. It honestly made me jump off my couch in surprise/disgust.
