Oh, yeah, I've seen that too. XD I figure the authors are probably rather young, so they tend to see characters as young too.

And thanks for sharing the interview, anon! Charlie interviews are always a delight.

Yeah, I find that now that I'm "old" (28, lol) I've gotten better at judging ages relative to mine. So before I got into the fandom, I just pegged Matt, Karen and Foggy's ages somewhere between 30-35. But then I got into fandom and people were throwing around ages as young as 24 as a viable option and I was like: ???? But... but.... they all have crow's feet and forehead wrinkles and thinning hair. They're not in their twenties XD

da.

I'm still "young" I suppose (I mean, nineteen's not that young???) but I got pretty good at judging ages correctly because of loving characters in sitcoms like Frasier, where the youngest main character is in his late thirties when the series starts out, haha.

Anyway. I don't know where this rambling came from, what I'm trying to say was that I assumed Matt was 30+. I go with 32 for Matt (like Charlie), around 35 for Foggy (which would mean Elden's got a couple of years on him but meh), and 30 for Karen.

And somewhere in their late sixties for Ben (RIP) and Doris, somewhere in seventies-or-does-he-even-really-age-maybe-he-was-just-born-old-maybe-he-sprung-fully-formed-from-Athena's-forehead for Stick, 35 or 36 for Claire (she's an established nurse and honestly she does come off as older than Matt), and fifties for Fisk, forties for Vanessa, and thirties for Wesley. BAM, AGES. (Team Evil has a wider age range than Team Good, hmmm, I guess there's more space for intergenerational friendships when it comes to illicit work.)

We don't see many people under thirty in Daredevil, honestly, people should just let it be.

I'm turning 32 this year and now I want to go check for wrinkles. THANKS. :p

But seriously, there's no earthly way they are mid-twenties. I think it's a desire of younger writers to make them sound "older" but still relatable.

Hey I should do an "I'M OLD AS BALLS ASK ME ANYTHING" thread. We can spill the tea on mortgages and hemorrhoids and childbirth and how awesome it is to feel the slow yet inevitable press of mortality upon our once-nubile flesh.
