Another possibility (especially for those having trouble with Mibbit) is connecting directly via euIRC's webchat client:

http://webchat.euirc.net/

Nickname of your choice, channel is #hellskitchen, click "connect".

It's not as pretty as Mibbit, but it does the trick.
