ooooh, my kind of question :D I'm also one more for the fluffier side of things (and the funny side, although *that* is rather rare in slavery AU! XD) so my fav on the meme is 'Hold My Hand'. I like all the other ones as well, though I have to say I much prefer characters being scared of things that *could* happen but then ever so rarely do, like some of the comments above also suggested. So, some of the more horrific scenes in the flashbacks of the snuffbait, or the flashbacks of the opposite-Matt, or the flashbacks in the non-meme fic where Matt is a 'ward' instead of a slave are kind of hard to read. The *reason* why I like slavery AUs so much is probably...power dynamics, and how it's in fiction-land like the ultimate expression of trust between to partners.

Like, I absolutely *adore* it when they've reached the point in any slavery AU where they can make jokes about it, like, Matt, one more Thurgood Marshall quote and I'm going to put you up on Craigslist, I'm not joking, and it's actually *funny*, because for both of them the idea is by now so outlandish that Matt doesn't feel threatened even in the slightest bit, and Foggy knows it. I also love the minute steps it takes to get there - like, the slave character for the first time daring to go to sleep without being tense about it, expressing his opinion, making a joke, eventually even having a fight with his owner, always knowing that the other *could* make their life living hell, but feeling so secure that they *won't*. For a fictional fantasy, that's really one of my fav romantic tropes (I also like similar trust dynamics in the more harmless BDSM-sister universes, where it's also a case of one character (or both, really) trusting the other utterly and completely, giving over all of their freedom for a while.) I don't think I've ever had a slavery fic make me genuinely feel bad, but I do admit whenever it's written from a character's perspective who *doesn't* view slaves as fully-fledged people not deserving this (like the Opposite-Matt, both Foggy and Matt from the medfet fill, the Matt from the Russian fuckpet verse) it makes me want to bang mine (or at least someone's) head against my laptop, because this is NOT RIGHT, but at the same time, it hardly ever stops me reading, if it doesn't descend into 100% torture porn.^^°

I also really like slavery AUs where the more physically powerful character is the one who is enslaved, which is why I slightly prefer the slave!Matt-versions (although I've been having great fun discussing the recent slave!Foggy prompt, too), but I like the dynamic it creates.

Lastly, I do enjoy consent discussions in fics so much, and slavery AU add a *giant* can of worms to that particular topic, making it almost impossible to navigate, and I enjoy that immensely. I also love watching a headstrong character struggle against a terrible position he's been placed in, and refusing to give up, refusing to lose himself or his values, and/or recovering himself with oodles of h/c from a nice owner to go with it. So, yeah. I love it that this meme happened to have so many fics spawned from it and the trope could become a bit popular in this fandom and everyone is having so much fun with it there have been so many updates each week :D
