As an author, it's entirely possible that the authors are just not sure *how* to reply to your comments. I don't reply to every comment because I don't know how to reply to most of them. Maybe if you want, putting in more questions?

I feel like a total dick for responding to a comment that someone put so much work and thought and love into with just "I'm glad you liked it. Thank you for reading :)"
Then i overthink it and write four drafts of a reply that never gets finished or posted
