And there's plenty of dark!Matt and Dark!everyone fics and prompts out there too. It doesn't mean anyone actually thinks the character would do anything like that, just that someone wanted to read a fic about it. Just remember that in the comics there's many alternate universes where the characters a very different from the main canon, so somewhere in some universe Foggy is a rapist, and it has nothing to do with anyone's interpretation of mcu or 616. Also, I think those particular fics were more about how Matt would react to a situation where he was taken advantage of by someone he's close to, and Foggy happened to be the guy that fit the part, and it wasn't really about Foggy at all. I could be wrong there, but yeah. Alternate universes and all that.

And about the Frank/Matt bit... there are plenty of prompts where Frank injures Matt or Foggy so the two of them can have some hurt/comfort fluff about it. Or sometimes he kills them, even tho he does not kill innocent people and wouldn't even shoot Matt with real bullets in the comics. It doesn't upset me because its just fic.

OP here. I'm not kinkshaming. It just kind of came out of left field and I was wondering if I totally missed something in canon.

I mean, I wrote one of those minifills where Foggy does, and I definitely don't think that it's something canon!Foggy would actually do? Like that's not the point of dark!characters fic.

I wrote it because I both really enjoy taking a 'what if a character did something completely different than they do in canon' and a 'what if Matt was betrayed by one of his closest friends' angle, and also because I can't quite see Matt rationalizing being raped away quite so hard if it was anyone else. That, and as much I also like Foggy/Matt I enjoy it when it's either gen or a very twisted version of that pairing.

You didn't, that trend isn't based on canon characterization.
