OP - Nothing bad has happened. It's just that I miss the anonymity (and the ability to cut and run now that I've lost interest in this unfinished fic of mine that's semi-popular).

My advice - if you know for certain that you're not going to pick up your unfinished fic again due to lack of interest/will to finish, put a *Discontinued* notice in the fic's summary.

That way the readers will get the message and you can take the time to decide if you really want to drop your psued.
