I hate it when people abandon threads or ignore them.
A prompt on here really spoke to me but I needed to do a lot of work in term to research and prep to fill it because it was such a complicated topic for me (involving intersectional oppression) and by the time I had my opening written out I really wanted feed back and to share it with the anon who prompted because I'd worked so hard on it.
And nothing. It's on my back burner so I add a couple hundred words to it every few weeks, and I go back to the post every time and nothing.
Like the hell? I couldn't drop with prompt now if I want to, it means so much to me and it's going to be such a good story but I can't get any support for writing it, not even form the person who wanted the damn thing to exist in the first place.
I really wish I was better with community building so I had more people to bitch about this stuff with in private. You know? As a community of both readers and writers without too much overlap I don't think we should be airing our dirty laundry in front of each other. It just seems like a way to sew negativity.
But on the other side I was just on a chat community for AO3 writers and when I brought this up I was told to be grateful for the lurkers or any responce I got. Which like??? Ugh.
I'm allowed to feel disappointed and unfulfilled when I post what I write here or elsewhere.
Honey it's an anon kinkmeme. We don't get notifications if people post in a dead thread or something from a couple of rounds ago. Did you post the bit your wrote, and then announce it in the WIP thread?
Why not post a link to it here, and see if the OP sees it? Or, maybe they've left the fandom. Who knows.
