Does anyone know that DD has superpowers, though? I got the impression that everyone just thinks he's a vigilante.

yeah, that's why i was thinking it might be set before he actually becomes daredevil. i feel like man in the mask = regular dude moonlighting as a vigilante / daredevil = superhero/
(also, this might be a dumb question but do people think daredevil is a totally different guy to the man in the mask???)

so if it was during the man in the mask stage it'd make sense that no one counted him but claire talking about luke not being her first special patient should have made jessica interested in who she was referencing.

DA: That doesn't mean people think Daredevil has powers. Tony Stark is a superhero but it's well known he doesn't have any actual powers just the mind capable of building the suit. If Daredevil in both his stages has continually failed to exhibit signs of superpowers - like extreme strength, speed etc - it's reasonable to argue that Jessica and Luke have assumed he doesn't have any. They might be interested in finding out a bit more about him because of the work he does (like in the prequel comic to Jessica Jones).

The Claire comment though should have made Jessica interested but maybe she was too stressed to register it at the time.
