what do they plan to do with will simpson? (JJ SPOILERS)

like.....okay, we know that he's the adapted version of frank simpson (aka nuke). in episode 10 he starts using the red/white/blue pill system that comic readers are familiar with. he goes on a ballistic rampage, tries to murder jessica, and after she and trish subdue him a bunch of shady guys break into jessica's apartment and remove simpson entirely, implying he'll probably be back in future seasons or perhaps even the defenders series.

i've read some stuff on how they likely cast him to specifically look like steve rogers (both in face and clothing) and have similar mannerisms, with the exception that simpson is incredibly violent and aggressive. knowing that he's officially been taken somewhere unknown by the program that made him who he is, what's next?

thoughts? opinions? this is a major loose end i can't help but feel will come back in later stuff.

Definitely a loose end, although I'm kind of glad? Alias was quite a contained story, and I was worried they'd wrap JJ up with a neat bow and ignore Jessica until The Defenders, but they're clearly setting up for JJ season two. Which = yay!

So I think we won't see Simpson again until JJ season two, which will focus on IGH or whatever it was called, as Trish looks into Jessica's accident and how she got her powers. Likely, Simpson will be a major antagonist in that series. We see right up until the second before impact of Jessica's accident in season one, so I'm guessing we'll see the accident itself and its immediate fallout. (They could even potentially tie it to DD, if the chemicals that affected Matt in his accident were from IGH). And maybe we'll even get some extra shady stuff about Trish's mother? I mean, adopting Jessica just because she and Trish attend the same school is a pretty major thing to do, especially since Trish says she doesn't know Jessica. And Mama Walker's certainly been shown to work all angles and do things that benefit her whilst spinning them as being charitable towards someone else - she could easily have ulterior motives for adopting Jessica beyond what the show put forth.

I don't know, this is all guesswork, I'm just excited that Netflix is confident enough in JJ to set up the next story - too many studios assume female-led shows/movies won't do well enough to warrant sequels.

(And I like that they set up Simpson as a 'Steve Rogers lookalike gone crazy on super serum', compared to on Agent Carter where Thompson is a 'Steve Rogers lookalike gone asshole on his own glory'.)
